DiabloFans.com recently was contacted by MTV's Diablo resident fan Tracey John. As our liaison with MTV Multiplayer, he will keep giving us heads up of any future interviews. Mockery and I knew a new interview/article was going to be released this week -- though we didn't know exactly what it was about.
Surprise! Jay Wilson may have slipped somehow that a Diablo 3 expansion might follow after the release of Diablo 3, and the Necromancer class might return in the expansion. It is not set in stone, but it is a fair hope that the Necromancer or previous classes may be brought back. Read the full article at MTV Multiplayer
... for those who are really passionate about the Necromancer, there’s still hope to see the class in a “Diablo III” expansion. In fact, Wilson thought that expansions might be a great place to bring back any of the old classes not included, particularly since the team itself had passionate debates on the topic — almost as much as the game’s art direction.
this is great news....are you all on drugs??? diablo 3 expansion passably. necromancer possibly be back. i cant wait for this damn game to get more news.
It's a good idea to bring the necro back in the expansion, maybe instead of bone wall just impeeding the path of enemies it could do some thorns damage?????.......possibly???:necro:
While news on Diablo 3 is great and I am always waiting for more, this news just makes me shake my head. Honestly, everyone expects an expansion eventually, but at this point who cares. It seems like putting the cart before the horse. We need the game to be out at least a year before we can even really consider an expansion so this is more like no news at all.

That's your personal opinion. However, We are who call the shot on what is, or not newsworthy.

True, but it's just adding to the excitement for the game.
I love the necro! Well this made my day. . . possibly. I think that the expansion is a great place to bring back old characters. It seems like that way people are forced to try out the new but will eventually get the chance to go back to the revamped (hopefully) old classes.
I am personally one of those types who think the art direction will be amazing, and that all new classes will be awesome. I do hope they bring back a few chars from D2 in the D3 expansion, just for old times sake and to see how they improve upon them.
People act like Blizzard is new and doesn't know wtf they're doing. Blizzard is the god of good games. Diablo is their game, their franchise, not ours. They know best how to raise their own child than an outsider does. We can offer advice, but they can tell us to go to Hell, which they pretty much have. I fully support that.
So far the barb is looking to be my first char...WD is cool, but man... the barb is just a badass... lol.. I may have to put names in a hat >_<
Awesome, I'd love to see the new army you can muster with the guy.
But are they implying they'll release an expansion shortly after D3 comes out?
I guess it's not a bad thing, it's just LOD came out about year after D2. :3
as we saw in the gameplay video. you can click an ally and they can join your party like a merc. maybe there will be some old classes coming back to be a merc type character. so we could be seeing some of the old classes coming back from diablo 2 and see them fighting still.
if they think of expansion then maybe the game is nearly finished...just a hope
But this interview is surely good news!! they even discussed atle art direction, so maybe the will make it a litle darker..;)
It could also mean an open ending to the story in D3 only to be knitted up in the expansion.
Possible ending to D3: Tyreal becomes corrupt and you must defeat him.
Nothing unexpected, ever since I saw the WD my hopes for a Necromancer went for the expansion. With the current game, though I think it may not be a good idea to bring him back anymore. All his best skills were using corpses, now that they are gone I really am not looking forward for some crappy replacement.
I really, really, really hope there's no paladin this time around.
I'm with cheeba....what's wrong with the pally? What kind of fantasy game would this be with no holy warrior fighting evil?
"Long hours of study in dank mausolea have made his skin pale and corpselike, his figure, skeletal."
Hes not really that old, id say 40 at most.
r u kidden me?? hes like 60 at most. (in d2 LOL, he had white hair boney as hell) 20 years later is diablo 3. But they said he might come in the expansion. And for all we know the expansion might be another 5 years later ( in the story). So therefore he will be 85 when he is introduced in the expansion. LOL
