Moreover, the group that plays multiplayer takes another approach. You can't play a game multiplayer if you pirate it. While it doesn't really makes sense to buy a game if you pirated it first for single player, it makes perfect sense to buy it later to get into multiplayer, and that is what a lot of people do.
And right there is the beauty of capitalism. Company X realises that they are losing money because people don't buy their games, so they inlcude a need for people to buy it.
Every company has two options. They can either A: Punish the player for breaking the rules (downloading, leading to threats and law suits), or reward the customer (multiplayer capability). The former makes the company hated, and has so far done nothing to deteriorate piracy, while the latter ensured customers so long as the company does a good job of providing incentive. Plus people respec them.
Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft all do this, and it's called Battle.net. Wonderful solution to a pesky problem.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Calling me stupid doesn't make you correct, didn't we already talk about that?
I didn't call you stupid. I said, "That's stupid". Way to go.
You think piracy is... bad?
I hope that's sarcasm. Cuz if it is. I believe a verbal asswhooping is in order *cracks proverbial knuckles*
A simple understanding of supply and demand gives you an idea of why piracy is bad. If piracy is rampant, then that means that supply is up. This causes a decrease in demand. Less demand, less money. That means that game companies have less reason to develop games and gamers have less reason to buy them. In closing, the end results of piracy are bad for both sides. I will speak no more on this subject.

Around January-Febuary Blizzard purchased 1500 AMD based servers... they said they where planning on doubleing WoW srvers. WoW has 300 servers so if they double thats 600 leaving 900 servers left over... $900,000+ sitting left over..
ok why the heck would you not continue on a game like this???

So we've got over the problem of colour in D3. Great. Now let's argue about everything else not yet set in stone and help make this game simply great! Game on.

They won't actually lose any money. They'll just be missing out on millions dollars they could earn from making it.
Potential earnings are considered current earnings, if you learn economics 101. So in fact, they are losing money by not investing in the right way. Whether tomorrow or next year.

Some of them are really stupid. I was buying Two Worlds and to encourage me he said: "It's a really good game I hear, PC Game Award 2006." It came out August 23 2007. And it was made in Poland where I am from.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

i'm telling you man go back in there and ask them when Lich King is coming out, i garauntee they well say "October 1, 2008 the offical date announced by Blizzard." while in all reality it is a wildly known fact that Blizzard has not announced a realease date and probably won't until next year.

Anyone want to talk about the D3 proof anymore?
Or so most people think, hence the panic that has enveloped the Internet that all games will be MMO's within 5 years.
I'm not sure I understand what you saying with "Good games never said anything about sales."
the first line says it all. they arent messing around either.. 5+ years needed

But lots of companies try to predict release dates... but with Blizzard their are no predictions.
