Alright, so I was trying to post some lengthy ideas for our long-standing Ikariam alliance in our private group board, but my God was it a pain! Every post is limited to only 1,000 characters, so I had to keep chopping up my message to get it through. This is a real inconvenience for me as a user.
We already have countless threads on the boards, would it be okay for me to ask to take off the character count restriction on private groups? Or at least have it made more reasonable, or an exception made for outstanding private groups?
Also, it's rather annoying how the margin underneath posts in social groups has the words pouring under it. This is really just a style issue that I don't like personally, really, so it's not a very big deal, but it still kind of annoys me. Anyway, if you don't know what I mean, check out how the text wraps around under the avatar of the poster instead of forming a clean margin:
The pouring text thing seems to be a SpeedVision only problem, so good thing you brought it to attention. I think most Mods/Admins use Carbonfibre so we wouldn't have noticed.
Yeah a character limit would be nice. Maybe the creator of the group can post more, or possibly a few "ranks" within the group like. Founder, Counsel, Member, Trainee or something, each with allowable limits. maybe 5000 for Founder, 4000 for Counsel, 2000 for Member and 1000 for Trainee.
I *think* I'm using Carbon Fibre 2.0. It's the new one, right? I'm not using the orange one, anyway.
Me, personally, as a legalist, would like a group-creater-made ranking system, if for nothing else than whatever purposes it would help in (I'd imagine future clans and guilds taking advantage of that sometime in the future). Linking these kinds of things to allowable character count, though, well... I would like it, but I'd imagine other people making groups that don't want to have ranks at all would find it annoying possibly? Just a thought.
Eh, yeah, I need to get around to getting a new screen sometime, mine is a really small flatscreen LCD. Oh well.
In any case, I hope someone on the site's design team or whoever manages the code would get around to reading the first post. The character limit in social groups is very annoying

Thanks for your time.

Something like that. <shrugs>

Thanks for the reply, by the way.
Same page but the orange boxes aren't there.
I have a 1440x900 widescreen resolution, dunno if that'd make a difference.
But ya the overflow is still there in mine just not AS bad because I use widescreen.
