Number crunching? I can't see that is has to crit first have been taking into account, this is just one of several short comings of your PE superiority theory falling short. Not to mention your own crude calculations are wrong by your own flawed logic:
[(4500/10)*1.1 + (3000*1.58)*0.1]/(3000*1.58) = 20.4% should be [(4500/10)*1.1 + (3000*1.58)*1.1]/(3000*1.58) = 22.4%
That way of comparing max DOT and increase is also besides the point the point is both the burst dmg and who obtains maximum DOT first and then the seize of the DOT, the calculations prove nothing.
The logic is pretty straight forward, firebirds 6 piece bonus gives you double up on all fire dmg, until reaching perma burn. Physical DOT is subpar as fire wiz compared to more fire dmg, as it scales better for a fire wiz with decent 100% fire dmg. The calculation would look very different from the proposed if it should illustrate it, as you have to show the curve of the dmg given and time to perma burn. Instead of these miscalculated max DOT percentage nonsense.
Well I did play around with pain enhancer, going to give you the credit of the doubt and try it out again instead of BotT. I got around 2.3 mill DPS with the BotP buff and 100% fire dmg% on top, so maybe its a matter of setup & playstyle what works.
I don't agree with the guide's choice of legendary gems, it is quite obvious that poision gem increases fire birds DOT and all spells also. The bane of trapped with blackholes and plenty CDR and templar with TF also is legit.
Pain enhancer is not what poster makes it out to be IMO, Bane of the powerfull, zei stone and (bane of the trapped or poison) would be my choices. Also the post doesnt mention 2.12 in which hydra, especially mammoth hydra will rule, so kinda lousy advice when people have to reroll gear in a week or whenever it comes.
