I think this is not only different for PS3 users, but also probably not 100% accurate for PC users, and definitely not reflecting the current "frequently asked questions". At this point I feel like there's no real point for a FAQ as there isn't an array of 10-20 questions popping up on a daily basis; that's basically the entire reasoning for whether or not an FAQ makes sense.
I think, 9 and 10 are too idealistic. There are skills and builds that vastly outperform others and the same holds true for farming efficiency. That might not have been evident when you first wrote this, but since you have updated it, it deserves the truth.
With some effort, there could be a list of beginner builds (fresh lvl70, only rare and crafted gear), transition builds (after getting Mirrorball for example) and endgame targets (full Vyr set, Wand of Woh). Though I'd keep the building guide in there.
Completely re-wrote #9 and #10, let me know what you think.
That being said, I'm wondering if I can link 2-3 of those "endgame cookie cutter builds" for each class, maybe as question #11 (would move #11 to #25 then).
Demon Hunter: Marauder + Sentry build (can't find a good guide)
Does that make sense? Not sure. Problem is also where to draw the line, how many builds to include for "real endgame" (e.g., pull monk just outshine everything - does that make all other guides useless)? If anyone can point me to "better" guides for the 2-3 definite "best endgame build guides" for each class please let me know. I would only include something like this is if it's fairly set in stone and in agreement with most of the community. Oh and since this is cookie cutter let's keep it at T6 rift group play (as this is probably what most efforts for Tiered Rifts will be focused on as well).
Yeah... wasn't sure how to approach this issue. But to be honest, the "cookie cutter builds" are part of endgame content and for all players who have reached this stage of the game the FAQ isn't really interesting anymore, I guess. I still think that for more than 95% of all players it's still all subject to their gear.
Might edit this later... but until July 13 there's a more important topic, to be honest
I've had the idea of creating a collection of all useful links, like this one. I put this project on hold because Vaneras was trying to do the same. Turns out his link collection is really poor and misses a million useful links. So maybe I'll do this at some point and add a FAQ point "useful links". No time right now though ;-)
If anyone else wants to do this I'd be happy to help out, though.
Nope, your weapon's element is essentially overwritten by whatever skill you use and plays no role for your skills (exception: wizards with EE passive or 4 piece Tal's set). Hm, I might add something later on in the FAQ.
Well, I've never heard of that, but my guess is that it's either a bug or that they want transmog designs only to be able to unlock from new, RoS recipe version (which have the same looks, but level 70 stats). It would be a bold move though, especially for those who decided to not buy RoS.
I'll add a sentence to the FAQ that there seems to be a bug with legacy crafting designs.
IIRC the set items part of the transmog answer is wrong. As some have found and I have personally tested about a week or two ago, you can't get recipe crafted items' transmog by crafting them.
I just did a bunch of crafting for my monk 2 weeks ago and every single item that I crafted was unlocked for transmog. So not entirely sure what you're referring to when you say what you and some others have tested, could you be more specific? Did you not get the transmog at all? Maybe you already had the transmog? My testing confirms what is written in the FAQ, and I believe everything else appears to be a bug, but I'm not aware of such a bug. If you could point me to posts/threads of such observations or maybe be specific as to what item exactly you were crafting to get the transmog design, I'd be happy to include those bugs/exceptions.
Which data exactly are you talking about, and where's a source missing? You mean the legendary drop chances in Torment? It's all there, including source (the Reddit post has the link to the blue post:http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12413271220?page=13#241)
1) There's no hard cap, and the soft cap is higher than what you want to go for. Just get as many resistances and armor as you can without sacrificing too much life/DPS/other stats. My main is not a barbarian - you should ask these question on the barbarian forum to get a more specific answer.
2) Resistances help you to mitigate damage from all sources, while the amulet only makes you immune to one particular attack. You will never be able to get immune to everything, so the answer is: resistances are always worth it. :-)

This doesn't, so I'll un-pin this for now.

For example:
Barbarian: Fire Leap/Earthquake (Frank @B.Net forums); Fire Leap/Earthquake without Unity, Cindercoat, CotA (Pri @B.Net forums)
Crusader: Holy shotgun (Thayne @Dfans);Holy shotgun 3.0 (Mannercookie @Dfans); Firestarter (Mannercookie @Dfans)
Monk: Guiding Palm monk (karmaEU @Dfans)
Witch Doctor: Pet WD (MCP @B.Net forums); Jade harvester build (rockon87 @B.Net forums)
Wizard: Chainpocalypse (Melkor/Malakai @B.Net forums)
Demon Hunter: Marauder + Sentry build (can't find a good guide)

Ohhhhh, it's the old set. I didn't get that.

I also added a question #24 which is being asked very very very often...
