She has 3 elements. There is still poison, which she doesn't get. And the unfair disadvantage that nearly everything is immune, making Hell very hard for her compared to the Paladin, who gets Hammers (only one creature is immune to them in the whole game, somewhere in Act 3), which deals insane damage, while also being non-elemental.
None of them have been as influential as the "everybody gets teleport" Enigma, though. It takes away from the talents of the sorceress class, basically debasing her so that every other character can have it.
They don't add new content with every ladder. The new content comes with major patches. It's just convenient for them to install a new patch and restart the ladder at the same time because that way everyone has to start over under the new patch.
Basically, there's a patch in the works, supposedly for Diablo, because it was announced in China. MedievalDragon keeps us up to date on these things, since he has very good inside sources in Blizzard, like story writers and the like, and is a highly respected member of many fansites, including this one.
So did we ever here whether or not they will reset the ladders when the patch comes out?
They just reset the Ladder in June 2007. Seeing as most ladders last 2 years at least, I don't think so, unless they mean to release it in 2009 sometime.
Lol yes Halbu and Jamella said 4 or 5 words. But there was no such option as 'gossip' for them.
Yeah, that's what I meant, sorry for the confusion
Yea, it does make sense. But why would they take quests out of Act 4? It's Diablo after all, the prime objective is supposed to be to get to Diablo and slay his ugly ass. Why not take 1 quest out of A1, A2, and A3?
I'm not a video game programmer or anything, the only stuff I know is a little HTML and CSS, but I'd guess, that if we are to assume what I previously said is correct, that the reason for cutting quests in Act 4 would be because the other 3 acts were already finished. Perhaps it might have been something like they published the acts one by one, so that after each one they couldn't go back and do major changes. I'm not really sure how to answer that, lol.
Another reason they might not have included so many quests in Act 4 is because there are only 4 NPC's, 2 of which have no other communication options, thus making quest initiation harder to incorporate in to the game in Act 4.
OR MAYBE it's just shorter because it's the last bit of real action in the story line (before the expansion). I mean, did you ever notice how the last bit of real engaging action in a story is often sweet but short lived? Like those fantastic light sabre battles at the end of SW: EIII or like the confrontation of the horde of Morder while Frodo destroyed the ring in LotR:RotK or that last battle between the White Witch and...ahh...what's his name? Oh well. The last battle between the White Witch and that older boy in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Anyway, I think that makes that fairly clear.
I think the only reason Act 4 seems incomplete is because the original Diablo 2 might not have had enough memory left on the disks to put more on it. They might have had more planned but scrapped it because of the costs of adding even one more disk (and remember they didn't have DVD's back then, just CD's.) That would make sense if you take in to consideration that the two merchants in Act 4 didn't even get voices, in fact, they say nothing. In any case, Jetrall is probably right. What more of Hell could you possibly see that wouldn't be redundant?
And about the civil war thing and all the demons- you kill thousands of demons all throughout Act 4, I don't think that would be TOO much of a problem. They could always make it some new Pandemonium Event, that would be cool
It isn't a book, as per MedievalDragon in the actual thread about the count down timer.
Yeah, that would be nice. Defeats one of the main purposes of creating sorceresses.
