You type /dnd and you can't see any whispers coming to you. But, if you say /dnd <insert text here>, when someone messages you it sorta comes as "<Insert name here> does not want to be disturbed: <text you put in after /dnd>
Putting in /dnd is mainly puttin in a reason why you do not want to be disturbed, so people know when they try and message you.
