i didnt have to buy potions as much with rogue because everything dies before it reaches you.. so i did it with rogue faster
edit- also easier to kill those witch things in hell because you can attack from a distance , with warrior they constantly "run" away.. and you "run" after then at an amazing pace i may add...
i agree rogue is best character in game, but i've always found that the she's hard to play at first when your dex is low and everything gets to you before you can even hit it...but she turns out to be amazing and versatile if you stack her right.
As for warrior in hell- i always make my warriors like warrior-mage hybrids, so i just bust them bitches up with like a level 4-5 chain lightning or fireball. also stacking a bunch of firewalls right where they're about to run works really well too so long as they don't have immunities to fire.

I think I'm gonna beat it agan tomorrow... Oh wait, I'm busy... Same Friday... And Saturday/Sunday... Damnit, I need to beat it!
haha. yeah if you're busy just beat one set of dungeons at a time. it takes like 30-45 minutes every four levels, so you can beat it within a couple of days just playing for like an hour a day. that's what i do...sometimes. other times i just play through till i beat it,

u FOOOLS U GUYS R not TRUE DIABLO FANS...I LUV THE SERIES GUYS...it has a style to ,the gameplay IS fun!and there is music in each level, unlike d2 which only contains sound while playing!!!!!
nobody had better say that i'm not a true diablo fan considering this whole thread i've been singing the praises of the first game. as a matter of fact both siaynoq and i have been playing the first diablo since the thread was started so that we may reconnect with our roots, and if he is anything like me, he's been spending wayyyy too many hours at his computer playing it.

So you see that sword on the far right end with the bones? I always thought that looked really cool. But do these look like actual items that were in Hellfire? I'm having a hard time finding some decent screens for it.
i definitely remember quite a few of those items. i remember the ribcage looking sword because my dad got it once. the flail with three spiked balls- had it. the mask looking helmet- had it. the upside down crown thing- my friend got it before. the cow looking full plate mail (bovine plate) mentioned it before. i do have a feeling though that a lot of that stuff was cut out, because it seems very unlikely that i would have never seen a lot of those items, considering how many years i wasted on that game. (had to do something while waiting for d2)
oh and in regards to the can't run/pres alt to highlight shit- they sort of fixed that with hellfire. they had a jog option available through the menu so it was like running without having to worry about stamina, and the monk's skill was this thing called search which highlighted all the loot. it was also available as a spell for everyone else. just letting everyone know.
p.s. i definitely don't remember the teddy bear...

oh no doubt. it's just a little weird when you have 75% of a game made by one company with a distinct sort of look to it, and then you have 25% of a game that's made by a different company with it's distinct look. it contrasts, but if you get over that little drawback it makes for an awesome expansion.

yeah. they had a shit load of new unique items and they had traps and oils for your weapons, and two new dungeons... it was chockful of goodies, one drawback though was because it was made by sierra, the new dungeons sort of felt out of place, but you only really notice it if you're not having fun...impossible.

man. hellfire was great. i actually liked the monk. i liked how he fought better without weapons, and how the heavier his armor got, the lower his ac was. that was pretty awesome, because it seemed a little less broken than other characters.

basically you enter the code the same way you do for the items shit for trainers, or like how you get the barb and bard expansion characters. only works for hellfire though

oh and get cow level .txt code... lt's not really a level but the expansion npc charcter farmer lester is replaced by guy in cow suit... he gives you hive quest, but upon completion he gives you his cow suit (bovine plate--- a beatsly ass armor for the level you're at when you get it)

go for it bucko... make sure that when you do you get the .txt codes for the barbarian and bard...
bard can dual wield, and barb can wield two handed weapons one handed (they were the prototypes to d2 barb imo) barb is fighter base and bard is rogue base.

it's cool only for the extra monsters, quests, items (oils), cheat with a guy in a cow suit (you get the bovine plate from him---bad ass armor) extra levels, and monk charcter.
actually that all sounds awesome. go to amazon.com, you can pick it up for like 20 bucks. a little pricy for a third-party, 10 year old expansion pack to a game that you can buy for 5 bucks...
but it's worth it.
Oh yeah, and you can stack more gold!

i think i remember that shit. you don't have hellfire do you? because hellfire allowed for you to play nightmare and hell in single player. there is a glitch i think for how to play them in single player, but it takes creating an online game starting in nightmare and then starting it up in single player.... i think.

it worked? awesome. yeah. when i first discovered boba, i decided i would only tweak one character ever so i wouldn't become addicted and make the game boring... ironically that rogue was my most fun character ever. but yeah, i never took her onto battle.net because i hated all the other hackers that did that shit, so i took the high road and just fucked around offline.
