"It is my belief that the Soulstones are at the center of this conflict. If only that fool Marius had not intervened, Baal would still be imprisoned within Tal Rasha."
Alright...so i've read most of it, but i'd like to sort some things out regarding lore here. First, Is diablo 2 a continuation of D1 or is it the same game remade? Second, Is the sin wars before or after D2? Third, do the diablo books, Legacy of Blood and The Kingdom Of Shadow have to do with anything? Or is it just random lore that includes some demons? Fourth, are there any more Diablo lore books? Fifth, what happened to the Nephalim storyline...or is that how all the Diablo heroes got their power? And last, If tyrael destroyed the world stone, wouldnt the world blow up? P.S. (I've read the Sin Wars and half of Legacy of Blood)
Diablo II is a continuation of Diablo I. It is a direct sequal of what happens right after the end of DI.
And for all your novel information, refer to the link Anakyn provided. But I'll just say that the novels are all set in the world of Sanctuary, all of them at least referring to Diablo.
The Nephalim storyline was the latest thing to be introduced, so I'm guessing it will still be continued sometime in the future, it just hasn't had a chance to do so yet. But yes, it is indicated that it is how the heroes gain their power.
And we don't know what the effects of the Worldstone being destroyed are yet. We do know, however, that the world does not blow up, because Moon of the Spider (novel) is set after the Worldstone was destroyed, and the world most certainly still exists, including the interference of demons and angels.
