I don't know how I've never seen that site before, that's cool. I do have one question though, is that creature in that concept art a picture of the kharza, which would mean after the corruption of the demon, or before, because the WD's don't have hooves...
I'm going to dig further into that site, though that's some cool stuff that I hadn't seen before.

See I learn stuff about this all the time, I didn't know that the angels and demons had access to the same powers as Necromancers, it all makes sense, but I guess we'll have to wait and see if we get any info on this in the story, I sure hope so, the Witch Doctor is easily my favorite class so far, and with so little known about them, I'm hoping we get more info.

Yeah, I'm certainly hoping so, it was an idea I had toyed around with a few times, but hadn't spent too much time thinking about it til I saw a different thread about it. Then when I remembered the comment the WD makes when he first starst up in the beta about balance, and connected that to Necromancers and balance (from recently reading the Sin Wars trilogy) it really struck me as a possiblity.
Where is it said that the Goatmen are related to the Umbaru Tribe? As I said before I'm no lore expert, so I'm wondering where you got this from.

So a topic over in the B.net story forums got me thinking about this more and I wanted to see what the more knowledgeable of you in terms of the lore thought about it.
Is it possible that the Witch Doctor is really indeed using the same power that Necromancers used? In terms of lore it would make sense. The WD speaks of balance, and it being disturbed in dialogue in the game, specifically in the first few minutes.
And while what is used by the WD isn't on the same level of the Necromancer, they are really just doing a different version of the same thing.
The WD just goes more towards things like animals then humans, but they are still in there.
Thoughts? I haven't quite finished the Sin Wars triology, and haven't read any of the others books, and am not sure if I will since they aren't necessarily canon, nor have I read the Book of Cain (just costs too much), so there might be stuff that I am unaware of that could confirm or deny this, but from what I've gathered there isn't much to go on.
