Muhahahaha! And even the mighty Elfen noticed nothing!
Not that I think it will matter though. I can't imagine Blizzard reading this forum and going "Whoa! 28 people are against adding genitals?! We'd better get this over to the concept artists right away and have them redo all the art with genitals!"
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

No-genitals is catching up with yes-genitals, it seems.
Yay

There has been no hint of a sequel all this time. I don't see anything stable about Diablo III here.
But then again people have never needed anthing stable to believe in it.

We saw that with WarCraft already, no one ever did anything about it.
I know you dislike Warcraft 3, but most other people don't. In fact, a lot of people, me included, think it's a great game and vastly superior to WC2. Why would we want to make a sequel then?

There are no such thing as legal issues here - the heXen brand and the heXen company (Ravensoft), for instance, still exist, but the fans still named their TC game "Hexen: Edge of Chaos" and nobody sued them; moreover, Ravensoft supports their project.
Ravensoft and Blizzard are not the same companies, and Blizzard can easily shut down fan projects should the like to do so.

Don't play dim with me, Phrozen. How many times people have demanded Diablo III on this forum? How many times they said they are bored of Diablo II? Same with the Thief fans. They want more, they have played the original games 100 times over and they want something new. Except those people go and make it, and the Diablo people just sit and beg Blizzard.
Or, the Diablo players capable of such a project realise that there will be a Diablo III. Thief's fans know there most likely won't ever come a sequel, seeing as the developer doesn't exist anymore. Realizing that there are legal issues with a Diablo project and the fact that a Diablo III (probably) will come and will be superior to anything fan-made in every way, the reward versus the time spent doesn't lend itself to a fan made sequel.

The fans of Thief are making a Total Conversion of DooM III into their own version of Thief. A Total Conversion is a very hard project to do. And has nothing to do with the original game being moddable or anything. And that's Thief. That game never sold too swell. Diablo II is one of the best-selling games. What conclusions can I make? Weak fanbase.
Although that is using a different engine from the original.
I guess part of it could be due to its popularity. Why make a total conversion if you're happy with the project as it is?

I dunno, Phrozen, I think you are not so worried about the concept rather than the implementation.

I wouldn't say that's the whole reason. Had Diablo been "modable" from the very beginning, things would have been different. But it wasn't.

To Phrozen
Regarding that "you made it up" thing, I didn't make anything up. The notion of "Man was made as the image of God" is from the BIBLE. It's, like, in the first few verses of it. I don't know much about Sanctuary and how much Sanctuary follows religion, but my example had roots.
And once again, Sacntuary's creation has nothing to do with the Bible. Humans are the offspring of angels and demons. They were not created by God, for he doesn't exist. (I think we talked about this in another thread some time ago :))

there is no harm to see some big boobies bouncing around.
Should I feel bad for thinking there's nothing wrong with having Andariel in the game, but hating the idea of giving Diablo visible genitals?

Did you just made that up or is that what some mage said in Diablo 2?
I made it up, just as much as you did in the previous post. It was merely to state an example, not to prove anything.

But, genitals are also used for pleasure (and excreting urine). Demons (especially followers of Azmodan) are full of sin, including lust. If I was a demon, I'd be pissed off to find that I don't have a penis lol.
That does hold true. But as I've said, excluding the Greater Evils, I can see most demons having genitals. I just don't want to

But is it not more confronting? Does it not make you cower just that little bit more? I suppose different cultures have different views, some say its a sign of being vulnerable, others say its more... manly? But, this game is for this audience, us here, with our culture. So is it or is it not more confronting?
Your culture isn't necessarily the same as mine though

Wonder why people aren't modding the hell out of LOD? Sorry, little off topic.
Because it's hard. NWN was made for modding, and Baldur's Gate apparently has a design better suited for it. But modding in Dialbo was just a side-effect of patch 10.9 really.
There was a mod called Shadow Empires I think that was doing a complete overhaul of Diablo with new quests, new acts, new bosses, the item system, everything. But it proves too massive to do. At least I cannot find the project anymore.

I vote no. Genitals exist for the purpose of reproducing, just as legs exist for walking and arms exist for grapping, swinging, flailing, whatever. So from a logical standpoint, I'd go with the third alternative. Let the minor demons have them but keep them away from the bigger ones.
Diablo, being the only one of his kind, obviously has no one to mate with, thus he doesn't have any.
However, I do not want to look at demon genitals when I play the game. So I vote no on personal preference.

When I think of a demon with horns and scales and genitals, I think "HOly fuck, that was a man once, but he has transformed himself into something more powerful! Run!"
But without them, it just reminds me of something thats meant to be scary but has been dimmed down for a younger audience. "Oh, okay, he looks pretty scary, I think I'll kill him now - wait, maybe I should level up first?"
Thats just me though, what do you think?
That's definately not me at least

Man was made by the look of God. Man has a penis. Therefore, God has one too. Therefore, all creatures related to God, including all creatures who fell after being related to God, may have genitals.
Man was made by nature. nature though having a penis was a good way of reproducing effectively. Therefore, those creatures have penises.
Demons did not originate in nature, thus do not follow the same rules.

To me it seemed slightly ambiguous, that's all

As I've said
True only in part. It does not mean that the people voting for number 3 agree with those voting for number 2, because it doesn't work the other way.
