I was just asking him a question. Why he would make this thread.
What's the point of your question? He made a thread to sprout a discussion, to find out how people of this forum feel about offensive realism. I think you need to check the first post of this thread out. As far as I can see, you are just trying to flame him that he likes talking about genitals or some crap like that. And, to say such a thing about a wise poster as Atrumentis, is, at least, low.
That question is not legit, Stonebreaker. It's a forum. You make threads in a forum.

Or, the Diablo players capable of such a project realise that there will be a Diablo III. Thief's fans know there most likely won't ever come a sequel, seeing as the developer doesn't exist anymore. Realizing that there are legal issues with a Diablo project and the fact that a Diablo III (probably) will come and will be superior to anything fan-made in every way, the reward versus the time spent doesn't lend itself to a fan made sequel.
The hasn't been a sequel to Diablo for 10 years. There has been no hint of a sequel all this time. I don't see anything stable about Diablo III here. If you ask me, about time to start thinking about a fan-made sequel. And, with such a big time gap, D3 will just not be the same.
There has been a sequel to Thief (Deadly Shadows), except the fans did not accept it. Fans may not accept Diablo III, in fact, but they will just go away and die, they won't make their own Diablo III like the Thief fans, they are too weak. We saw that with WarCraft already, no one ever did anything about it.
There are no such thing as legal issues here - the heXen brand and the heXen company (Ravensoft), for instance, still exist, but the fans still named their TC game "Hexen: Edge of Chaos" and nobody sued them; moreover, Ravensoft supports their project.
Why make a total conversion if you're happy with the project as it is?
Don't play dim with me, Phrozen. How many times people have demanded Diablo III on this forum? How many times they said they are bored of Diablo II? Same with the Thief fans. They want more, they have played the original games 100 times over and they want something new. Except those people go and make it, and the Diablo people just sit and beg Blizzard.
I could say "Why do you want Diablo III if Diablo II is perferct already?"
It's not popularity. Thief is much less popular than Diablo. It's quality of fans. Diablo is a much simplier game than Thief and attracts more simple people who are usually not able to support such a serious project as a Total Conversion. Thief, tho, is an elitist game, and has elitist fans.
I wouldn't say that's the whole reason. Had Diablo been "modable" from the very beginning, things would have been different. But it wasn't.
It's not an obstacle for hardcore fans. Except Diablo II's hardcore fans, especially Diablo II's gifted hardcore fans can probably be counted by the fingers of one hand...
The fans of Thief are making a Total Conversion of DooM III into their own version of Thief. A Total Conversion is a very hard project to do. And has nothing to do with the original game being moddable or anything. And that's Thief. That game never sold too swell. Diablo II is one of the best-selling games. What conclusions can I make? Weak fanbase.
The majority of Diablo's fanbase expects Blizzard to make something for them rather them to go and make something themselves...

There is no God in Sanctuary? Wow. Humans offspring of angels and demons? Shouldn't demons have genitals to make offspring, then? Or you meant something else?
I dunno, Phrozen, I think you are not so worried about the concept rather than the implementation.
Wonder why people aren't modding the hell out of LOD? Sorry, little off topic.
Disintegrated, low-quality "fanbase".
Now, with all the stuff that was discussed here...
Diablo is not a game about sex or interaction in any way or form. It is about KILLING huge amounts of w/e. And please keep it that way.
There is no reason to make the game AO, either. And I really don't care what rating a game has, but I do think Blizzard would care if they lose tons of money if they make the game AO. Drop that out. Most of you are below 18, including myself, why on earth do you need AO? It's a demon killing game, not a porn game.
Now, I am going for athmosphere/realism. Atrumentis said everything I meant to say already. And, scales don't make demons reptilian.

Regarding that "you made it up" thing, I didn't make anything up. The notion of "Man was made as the image of God" is from the BIBLE. It's, like, in the first few verses of it. I don't know much about Sanctuary and how much Sanctuary follows religion, but my example had roots.
The concept art shows that the part in question is kind of...barbed and spikey. Imagine how painful it would be to be uh...penetrated by something like that. Not only would it be a way for a demon to satisfy their lust, but the unfortunate victim would probably be torn to shreds from the inside out.
I think that's somewhere along the lines of the point Atrumentis wanted to make.
If you really want to know, that just means that man has a spirit and a mind. God doesn't have sex and doesn't need to go to the bathroom, or he would be submiting himself to the laws of his own creation, which would be an oxymoron to his existence.
If you really want to know, NO ONE knows what or who God is and whether or not does he follow the same laws as we do. And my personal belief is that God is just a programmer sitting behind his PC pooing into the bathroom eating chips while watching a game of "life"...

Man was made by the look of God. Man has a penis. Therefore, God has one too. Therefore, all creatures related to God, including all creatures who fell after being related to God, may have genitals.

Not sure how would that look in 3D, tho...
