All of this relates to the Evils and Angels, so they are relevant to the discussion.
And all of your info is understood to have been stated, but the question is by who and if this is reliable enough to discount the idea that Cain is not who he says he is. If I was taking all the info presented as fact there would be no argument. It is just that most of that information is not "history" but rather Cain's story that he recants.
Exactly. And my point was The Lord of Lies would, intrinsically, be extraodinarily effective at...lying...either TO Cain, THROUGH Cain, or AS Cain...
1. makes sense considering he claims to be the last one. But he is a descendent of Jared cain who imprisoned Diablo in the soulstone
2. It is better for evil to have the world stone corrupt then to have it destroyed, therefore cain would not want tyrael to destroy it.
3. But the evils were terrorizing everybody, If the hero didn't kill them they would have ruled sanctuary, the hero had no choice but to persue.
What "evil" is having the World Stone corrupt better for? Mind you, the official story is that the Lesser evils Azomdan and Belial wanted to fight Heaven directly, whereas the Prime Evils wished to corrupt man...thus the Primes exile (the unoffiicial story being that the Primes wished to be Exiled to work more directly with man). Then again, we haven't the slightest clue, exactly, what all a corrupt and/or broken Worldstone even does.
I said mortal sinner. Murder is a sin and neither Adam nor Eve were mortal when they were banished.
I understand, but I'm saying that's a very un-informed interpretation of the text. By the time Adam and Eve fell, all humans were sinners. They sinned in many ways. The first Murder was simply the most dramatic that occured.
Jazz - I'm not saying this theory is correct, but you have to admit it's interesting. I'm not trying to indicate that Cain MADE everything happen, but he's always there...helping...providing information...assumedly to one end or another. Information. Lies? Or, at the very least, perhaps fueld by Lies...from the Lord of Lies...
Another interesting tidbit, from the Wiki entry for Dante's Divine Comedy: In the 9th circle of hell there are four coencentric zones, Round 1: Caïna, named for Cain, is home to traitors to their kindred. The souls here are immersed in the ice up to their necks. (Canto XXXII).
For Cain could be considered the first major traitor to his own kind.
fewwwhh *wipes forehead*
Good thing it's just my idea and not me. I'd really hate to be grouped in with those retards that make nonconstructive comments.
On Topic-
Azmodan is the Lord of Sin
Cain from Cain and Abel can be considered the first mortal sinner for killing Abel.
Also, Azmodan has already shown that he does not support Diablo by throwing him out of Hell along with the rest of the Prime Evils, and Cain refelcts this same disdain for Diablo.
Incorrect. In the Bible, or Hebrew mythology (depending on the language your more comfortable with) Cain was the first murderer. The first sinners weren, in fact, Adam and Eve (along with every other human), causing the fall, etc. Though, through an un-informed assumption, Blizz very well could have taken the route you just suggested.
I still prefer that, if Deckard Cain caused all this through his lies, then it would be the Lord of Lies behind him, especially since, as I just stated, Belial and Cain are both Hebraically rooted names.
I don't know who it was, but the most interesting and well-developed theory I heard hear was that Belial, The Lord of Lies, has been impersonating this "Deckard Cain" from the start, either for his own ends or in secret service to the Prime Evils (as most seem to believe that the Prime Evils planned their soulstone entrapment and exile from Hell). Also, both Cain and Belial have Hebraic roots in Myth.
