Are the Prime Evils the spawn of Lilith? I don't think its stated anywhere, but she is the mother of all demons. She also revived them for the pandemonium event, I think it was an act of compassion on her part. So in that case Lilith would be the most evil.
There is no way Lilith is the mother of the Three. Seeing as how "brother" isn't actually meant in the biological sense, I doubt mother is either.

Yes I'm pretty sure we can ALL turn a christian church to worship Satan, as you have rightfully stated. Diablo couldnt fully corrupt 1 deeply religous person, where Mephisto on the other hand, corrupted the inhabitants including the high priests, priests, and other deeply religous folk AKA Zakarum except for one, Khalim
Your're assuming however that it was faith that kept Diablo from managing to compelte his work. I say that is not the case; faith would not have been the only criteria in detemining whether or not a person can be corrupted.

I voted that Mephisto is the most evil, because he is the eldest. But really, how do you measure evil? What is the criteria?
I didn't think of that when I posted it; personally I just thought of who i thought was the most insidious and wicked. I think that's what I was thinking at least, I can't recall

why was it that when the Three reunited, the plan was for M3phisto to defend the portal, Diablo to gather his armies, and Baal to corrupt the stone & open the gateway for Diablo's armies to ravage Sanctuary? If they were equally as evil, why did they have to seperate, making it easier to pick them off, 1 by 1? Is that because it makes solo play possible? Or could there be some sort of motive behind the plan???
If we are to guess, then there are of course several possible ideas.
That Baal went to Mount Arreat is no surprise, he possessed the body and memories of Tal Rasha, and so knew where to find the Worldstone. So that's not really strange.
Mephisto probably stayed behind, because he knew Kurast the best. Any attempt to follow them would have to be stopped there, and since he was in control of the entire Zakarum, he of course stayed to delay the process.
And Diablo, being the last one, went into Hell to rally their forces and perhaps also deal with Belial and Azmodan. It could be argued that Diablo is the most powerful/most suited for such a mission, but I think it was merely because the other two excelled at their chosen tasks.
As for the evil debate, it was a slightly futile question. Nevertheless, many replies here have been very constructive and insightful

Remember though that terror/fear isn't unique to Diablo.
And neither is destruction. Hatred though seems to be something the High Heavens do not utilize.

"Diablo, perhaps the most feared, the ultimate manifestation of terror, the nightmare not only of children but of veteran warriors who had already seen the horrors men themselves could produce. Diablo it had been who had gazed most at bright Ureh from his monstrous domain, who had most been offended by its glorious existence. Order could be brought forth from the chaos created by Baal, and the hatred of Mephisto could be mastered by anyman with strength, but to have no fear of fear itself—such a thing Diablo could not believe and would not stand." (Kingdom of Shadow)
It's an interesting quote to be sure. It all goes down to being stronger than the prime. If you are powerful enough you will not be destroyed. If you are strong in the mind, you will not hate. If you are courageous enough, you will not fear. Or rather perhaps, you will not allow fear to affect you, just as you prevent hatred and destruction from affecting you.

So, I got the idea from reading Perdition by Solitariumdesigns right now, where in the first chapter, Baal is thought of as the most evil of the Three.
It just got me thinking. Can we quantify evil in such a way? I mean, we have Three demons of (presumably) equally terrifying powers, who reign over Hell together. They've all corrupted their fair share of mortals and killed countless.
What are your thoughts on this? If I have to pick one, I'd say Mephisto was the most evil of them. Destruction isn't necessarily evil, and Terror is something you instill in others, but when you have it yourself you're not really evil, you're dead scared.
Hatred however, is something you feel yourself towards others or other things because you do not like them, do not want them, and care not about.
