we would still have to gather the images of the 18 tiers x ~7 slots that can be dyed x 5 classes x 2 genders and find and preview each dye color ~20. Then we have to edit each image by cutting and cropping out each item from the paper doll and in-game model. so just ~25,200 images.
But once all of that is done, then a simple program to select each image should be simple enough
If they're all on the Wiki or an Item Database, it'll be easy, ;).
well ive done all i can do here Ill leave the rest all up to you
It was crazy exiting when you found an item or mob etc that nobody ever seen before. Ofc it's up to each and everyone to use these tools or read the community sites with this info.. I'm just saying some "fun™" was lost when ease-of-use data-mining tools made progress. ,-)
Undoubtedly the current state of gaming and online communities have changes gaming and how we approach it, but it's also no different from any other industry that evolves. Things are lost all the time, and even though it's sometimes sad we should instead try to focus on the good things. For instance, never again do you have to be stuck somewhere because of some weird bug, now all you have to do is look it up on the interwebz

Riight. Any program attempting to do that will obviously use data-mined models for the graphics.
Maybe something simpler... like a search field that can query online characters that fit search fields. That is, of course, if they incorporate the Armory. You would have an endless number of characters to pull from. At first it will be limited but as the game grows, so can your search field specifics. Not only will it give people a cool tool who wanna see gear but also connect people. They may want to 'friend' the awesome dude they just pulled up to model their Barb or Monk after
Actually, thinking about it, I think there's going to be a preview system for dyes within the game. Though, that would mean that making a tool for that would be simple. I dunno, we'll talk about it, :). For sure though, the Skill/rune combination calculator and Gem Calculator.
Good then! Keep going Sixen. Doing a fantastic job here!
Right off the bat, we're planning on a Skill/Rune calculator, and a Gem Progression Calculator (shows how many gems you need to get to all levels following).
I would like to see a tool where you could try the looks of different armor and dye combinations,,,, purely as a visual character planner which I think would be a good gimmick.
Item/dye "calculator" would be cool too. Maybe with Gems and Enhancements too.
Eventually yes, we'll turn all of these calculators (Sill, Gem, Item, whatever else) into one big Character Planner... That's the plan, ;).
Awesome. yea, for some reason I like the idea of the item dye/effects thing. not sure why lol. Wouldn't be as useful as those other calculators but i think it would draw alot of attention. Anyway, cheers!

I was just wondering. What kind of tools will be available to us when D3 comes out. Thanks.
