Yeah you need IAS gloves like you said. Problem for you is you're starting to get up there where upgrades cost a lot and also have a domino effect (you upgrade something but then you need to change another piece just to make the first upgrade work). The cheapest direct upgrade may be as you mentioned: Lacunis with high crit and armor (since you got good all res but less than 4k armor). You're also missing armor on shoulders.
Another cheap huge DPS boost can come in the forum of an IAS Unity (you will gain damage, 200+ LoH but lose a tiny amount of Vit). In a perfect world, I would tell you to switch your Storm Crow too for a high crit Mempo (cause you have a very nice Chantodo set) but then again that would cost... a looot. You also may need another LoH source for this upgrade too.
***Edit***: Never mind on the Storm Crow you need it. Just noticed your offhand doesn't have APoC.
No idea about the terrorists in Keep Depths... I've believe I've survived them before but probably only with group buffs. They generally still one-shot me both in CM and Archon. I never tried going EHP heavy though, like some people try running Archon with 200-300k DPS, 100k+ life, high res and armor. For me to try something like that would require a few billion gold and would STILL result in massive DPS loss, so I'm not too motivated for it. I'd rather just wait for 1.0.8 and play Archon in groups so I don't need that much EHP, and still keep sheet DPS of 450k+ unbuffed / 600k+ buffed.
This is all Archon though, not CM. For CM you should never really go EHP heavy like that. I have ~45k life, ~1k LoH, ~730 res, ~4.4k armor and it allows me to run around MP10 freely farming in full DPS SNS spec without any problems at all. I rarely get killed by terrorists if I'm paying attention and perma-freeze them or run away correctly.
Ain't been playin' much lately, but when I do I'm always running BM now.
I ditched the whole Dagger/Triumvirate thing I was doing and went back to Chantodo's @ 2.74+. I finally managed to pull well past the 300k mark I wanted while maintaining 2.74+ IAS, currently sitting at sheet DPS of 351k (buffed) which shoots all the way up to 411k with Deep Freeze. I tried Glass Cannon too for a while but I think the damage increase from it is so minimal compared to the survivability you lose, so I switched back to Evocation.
As far as defensives go, could use more armor but I think I'm doing just fine. Keeping all res @ ~730, and coupled with the above mentioned damage/speed setup; as well as 1014 LoH, I can sometimes do silly things like facetank desecrators + arcane beams.
Definitely recommend BM for anyone with similar gear setups.
True - this set-up does require you to get Inna's pants. I use 190 vit / 9% ones for extra EHP. I even still use an old school 6% / 6% Zuni boots with ~70 int and ~60 resists. It was a bit of a challenge to reach the breakpoint but the end result was good, especially considering the massive amount of elemental damage bonuses from this set-up (Triumvirate, Storm Crow, Zunis, Tal Rasha neck).
To be honest the whole idea kinda came to me after stumbling over a quite exceptional Tal Rasha's Allegiance. The thing had 5% Cold dmg, 213 int, 131 vit, 726 LoH, 62% CHD and 10% CC.
At an unbuffed 2.73 APS, 56.50% CC & 287% CHD (without emerald); totaling 263k DPS (with emerald), I got a sheet DPS increase by switching from emerald to ruby. It was a small increase though. It only took it to 266k DPS.
I'm currently running a black 1.66 APS dagger + socket / APoC Triumvirate / Tal Rasha neck / Storm Crow gear set-up. I used to do 3.01 APS with a 1.65 socket Chantodo and old school Zunimassa boots, but was eventually convinced 3.0 was overkill and decided to jump from 200k DPS with it to 300k DPS @ 2.73. Didn't quite make it (yet), but I'm happy with the results so far.
It is indeed bannable I believe, to force a macro from a mouse onto Diablo 3 for gameplay advantage. That's why the game was designed without such a feature; otherwise you would have seen a macro feature in-game (such as the one in World of Warcraft).
...but no, it can't be detected. The "order" in which your buttons are pressed doesn't matter. Even if Blizzard wasted time and money (which they don't) on calculating how far apart every player's key strokes are and then found someone with an extremely repetetive pattern it would prove nothing. How are they gonna prove you weren't performing that pattern with your fingers on a keyboard? Besides, not all your clicks go through. You don't DS, EB, and FN at the same time which makes this even more irrelevant.
I use a Razer Naga Hex but still don't use macros on it though. Not because of bans or anything like that... but because I wanna control what I click. Sometimes I'll run inton reflect damage for example, and then I wanna only nova and DS without EB; or maybe I wanna just nova something specific. If I had a macro I wouldn't be able to do that. I admit I don't get much use out of its 6 buttons playing CM/WW except for maybe having shift and potion on my mouse; however it's actually pretty sweet to use for specs like Blizzard/Hydra. You don't even need the keyboard for some specs (ex: Archon).
Thank you for the awsome/ifnormative thread/post(s). This is a great read.
CM/WW is basically my main spec. I use two builds, one for farming and one for ubers. Tested the most recent uber gear and spec set-up last night against MP10 and only got gibbed once by Maghda (and thankfully quickly ressed to win). The rest we completely dominated with little to no trouble.
I'm running ~2.8 APS unbuffed. For ubers, I used the 20% Time Warp and Crystal Shell, but did not swap out Storm Armor. I think Storm Armor is just too sweet to swap out - and correct me if I'm wrong - but it does also help a bit with survivability and getting your opening attack string off (not as much as others, but still) in the form of the extra base Arcane Power. Diamond Shards on the other hand I sacrificed for Crystal Shell cause it's just such a huge boost in survivability, or at least to me it feels that way. So basically I think what I'm trying to say is Crystal Shell > Prismatic and we don't need both to survive MP10 (if well geared). That's why I always keep Storm Armor. My armor may be a bit low (only ~3470) but it wasn't a big problem at all, maybe cause I have decent LoH (~1500) with ~47k life and ~222k DPS.
Question: I use a 1.65 Chantodo and have 71% AS from gear. If I pull another 9% out of my ass, will I reach 3.0 breakpoint unbuffed? I'm trying to achieve a 3.0 speed + 20% bubble spec for MP10s. I used a few calculators and some told me I'd make it, and some gave me 2.98 or 2.99 (which made me wanna cry).
For normal farming I go MP6 and use Teleport (Safe Passage) instead of Slow Time. I also go full SNS with Shards included and have no survivability issues mostly. Teleport makes you a LOT faster and more efficient, makes you laugh at mobs running away instead of getting frustrated and can also save your butt mid-fight. The Safe Passage rune is nice when there's maybe a very strong mob pounding on you where you can teleport in place or very close, slightly adjusting your position while gaining the damage mitigatin at the same time.
Also, a tip for all you guys who said Reflect Damage gives you problems: Don't Explosive Blast. They'll take a little longer to die with just WW and novas, sure, but you'll still emerge victorious (without suicide bombing yoruself).
