*Cough*
Remember that the Witch Doctor is using his pets as a distraction..
I'm not so sure of that. He said alooong time ago, in a time were the WD skill tree were different and the own WD was not consolidated.
See the actual Wd skill tree. Theres a entire summon tree filled with buffs to improve your minion power, both offensively and defensively. Whats the point of have a buff that makes your pets frenzied in the last tier if they are not supose to kill anything?
And they plan the Wd to have at least the same amount of the druid's. The mongrel skill can summon up to 5 dogs.
I like variety, but it appears that Witch Doctor's main damaging skill will be Fire Bomb thingy and Locust Swarm...
He have some more options.
Haunt, Plague of Toads, Fire Pit, Spiders... Obiously he have alot less attack option then wizard, however he have more variety with multiple debuffs and cc's.
I wouldn't want *too* much micromanaging, but a little bit of optional spells would be nice (and maybe a single, occasional cooldown or something)
I totally agree with you.
At the moment we have only the Sacrifice spell, however it seens the last spell in the "Zombie" tier is a pet buff (wich can potentially mean another micromanagement feature).
I think the WD should have a spell similar to necromancer's Attract. This would let you put a mark on the ground and all your pets would move to that place and attack the closest enemy.
In the 09 Skill Tree the WD had 3 minions (even though only one was usable).
The already know Zombie Dog (the old mongrel). The Zombie Charger wich is possibily a more offensive summon option. And Gargantua a giant Zombie dog vercion.

"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

Theres high tier talents improving low level skills. For me it's a prove that you're right.
