Background: Michael Reid was a shy, low-profile boy all through his teenage years. Only child of a single mother, Michael's bond with his mother was really tight. On his 18 birthday, they went to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. After dinner, they decided to walk back home, since they rarely saw the city from ground level. On their way home, they were intercepted by a guy with a gun, asking for their money. Michael froze, panic taking control of his body. He saw his mother arguing with the mugger, so afraid that he couldn't even distinguish the words. Suddenly, he heard a gunshot. All other noises muted, images got blurry. He forgot to breath, as he saw her mother falling to the ground. Fear and anger rose to levels he had never experienced, levels he couldn't believe existed. Something clicked in Michael's head.
The next thing he knew, he was handcuffed to a hospital bed, a terrible pain searing through his chest. He looked down and saw five clean bandages on his chest. Police and doctors entered his room. After several hours of talking, they explained him that witnesses had seen him running towards an armed person, recieving five shots in the way, before beating the hell out of the armed guy. When the police arrived, little was left of the mugger to recognize him. He was arrested and taken to the hospital. As soon as his life was out of danger, he was questioned. The only time when he open his mouth was to state his name. Sanchez.
His wounds were healing really fast considering he had been on the brink of death only days ago. So fast, the doctors were shocked. Several neurologists and physiologists had studied him over the past few days. From what he could overhear from his bed, it was impossible that a light-built child could summon the strength to beat a man to death after recieving five gunshots. Later they explained him that he had developed a "temporary alter-ego," a personality independent of his own, built to cope with the pain, panic and anger he had felt at the time of the incident. This personality was part of his subconscious, and therefore had access to parts of his brain that were restricted to Michael. That's why he was able to ignore the pain, summon strenght very much above his normal level, and devote more energy to the healing of his body. The personality had named itself Sanchez and was now a part of himself. It would manisfest whenever Michael felt extreme pain, fear or anger, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. When he was healed, he was transfered to a mental hospital.
In the hospital, Micheal had a lot of time to mourn his mother. After he got over the incident, he dedicated himself to small crafts. The hospital encouraged manual work, so they made his job easier. He created several decorations for his room, made of almost every material posible. He got bored fast, but it was the only thing he could do to distract himself.
Six years later, a 24-year-old Michael was roaming the halls of the hospital. He had asked several times to leave it, since he was already mentally healthy, but the answer had always been the same: Sanchez was a danger to society. Suddenly, a huge blast shook the floor under his feet. The building was collapsing, but he couldn't hear anything. Everything seemed to be fading. Panic overwhelmed him as the floor under his feet gave up...
When he opened his eyes, he was surrounded by a group of people. He looked around, seeing his city in ruins. After asking around, he found out about the machine blowing up and the whole world going nuts. The group said they had found him searching corpses near a mental facility a day ago. He had joined them without explanation. Looking down, he saw two pistols strapped to his belt. The doctors were right: Sanchez was a danger to society. He decided to follow this group, they were the only people he knew, and they seem to treat him well.
Reason for joining: He has no idea, it was Sanchez's doing.
Equipment: Two normal pistols and crafting tools.
Text Colour: Micheal: Blue Sanchez: Dark blue I will change Sanchez colour to something more distinguishable later, I just didn't want to take up two different colours before everyone chose theirs.
