Christ, do I have to light a fire under everyone's ass? This is the perfect time for all ya'll to chit chat away!! Jetrall is waiting on a few posts!!!
Well this is an unexpected turn! Ahh, I can't wait until I'm let in on all of this, it looks like the story is getting better and better. And now we get to see Bramwell! Simply awesome!
On another note, it looks to me like Riddia and Tappas were destroyed by the same unknown force. Noice.
That's good. I check both threads almost daily too. You know you could always strike up a dialog between your character and another person's. Looking at the character thread, almost every one of us has the same or similar goal, but how we go about achieving the goal could be very, very different. Or it could the same.
Remember, my character isn't even in this yet. If he was, he'd have plenty to say.
And I agree with the whole timing issue. Between work starting to pick up, school starting for some people, Blizzcon and other conventions, etc, it has been a little distracting.
I understand it would increase the difficulty of your task by introducing me to the RP and all of the associated things.
(Sidenote: It might not make a difference but technically, I'm not really "new".
And I'm an experienced roleplayer, both a curse and a gift eyh?)
Edit: Seems awfully quiet around here..
I think after my assumption, and Jetrall stepping in to say that it was not cool, the whole thread kinda has this "daddy hit mommy at the dinner table" feel.
I still check both threads every day, and I'm still waiting for my chance to contribute my character, but it just seems to be moving like molases right now. But, maybe that's more about the speed that these RP's usually go.
Actually, I'm kind of curious. When you guys came up with this, or other RPs, do you actually map out an entire story first and let us just kind of fill in the gaps with you pointing the direction? Or is it more you have the beginning and the end figured out, and you kind of wing it throughout the rest? I think the first may be more time consuming before the RP, but it would probably help the story play out better. Especially if almost every single town is mapped out, and all the characters we meet are given their own style. But then that gets pretty time consuming.
I wish we were all on the same timezone. That'd make things a lot easier I'm sure.
You know, maybe I'll just start writing another RP in the Diabloverse. It wouldn't be done anytime within the next few months, but I think if I could put a lot of thought into it, and try to find ways of fixing some of the hickups that have been made so far, well then... Hmmm. I think I have a few ideas to play with. Okay, thanks for helping to get the creative juices flowing again.
I also think starting the RP at a time when there isn't a Blizzcon or SCII or DIII or WoW release might be beneficial. lol
Not to be confused, I still want in on this RP. My own RP writing will be secondary.
lol. I think maybe we need three lead players in this kind of a game. It seems like a lot of work, especially for an Admin to have to keep an eye on this in addition to everything else.

Yeah, he kicked ass.
Spammed from time to time, but kicked ass.
Hopefully we can work him into the story, perhaps he could be a prisoner from Tappas being held in Riddia?
Hey don't forget about me! I've been waiting as patiently as possible (not as patient as I should be :P) for nearly 3 weeks now! But Jetrall said he already had a way to work me in, so I'm trying really hard to be calm and quiet. Pace yourself Archie.
For the record, while running off into the woods alone is not against the rules, it is discouraged. I don't recommend it.
Gotcha. I just thought that before, you were trying to encourage us to do some free thinking. Forgive me for suggesting that, I'm still a newb to this whole RP thing. I had hoped such an act would add to character depth and development.
As for the missing players, I know that Kamrad started his own RP. That still leaves Havoc, Dauroth, and Vnom as no-shows.
So.... we're supposed to fuck off from the children, the burning village, the sobbing townspeople, and the overall scene of devastation, and ride to Riddia to destroy a whole fucking town, with one guy?
We don't need to have Elfen and Jetrall hold our hands the whole way, it's just nice to get some direction so we don't go leading the story in a completely different direction than is intended. As can be demonstrated by my first post.
And doing things like that with "they can delete it" to fall back upon, isn't exactly a great idea. It just makes it so you lost a (hopefully) well thought out post, and will make you less inspired when writing up a replacement post.
Don't mean to come off as a troll here, but seriously man, give this some thought.
I definitely didn't mean that everyone in the group say to hell with the people. I get where you're coming from, and I honestly wouldn't go as far as you described, and I can assure you he wouldn't pull a Rambo all the time, probably only a one time deal. Its not like I would try to assault the entire town head on with one man. What I had in mind was that on his way to Riddia, he would find a sentry unit in the forest, and takes them on, coming out of the fight a bloody mess, their blood and his own. I would make sure he was almost more of a mess than Jamis. It would be a nice lesson for the character to learn that he would need to work with all the knights to be effective.
Trust me, I do give everything I write quite a bit of thought. When I get the chance to post my character backstory, youwill reconsider how I think, and that my thoughts are a lot more complex than you obviously assumed. Mind you, I have taken several classes in film writing, and I have written two feature length screenplays over 90 pages each (& numerous short film screenplays), so I do know a few things about storytelling.

Hmmm... It is now the day after the day after the day after the day after tomorrow.
Slackers... nothing but slackers.
Time to pick up the story again everyone.
Alright!! Now we're talkin'!:D

Jetrall has already figured out my entrance as of August 20th. So don't worry about me, I'm waiting patiently.

2 days later. lol
So did Elfen give up on this game or what?
I do like Scyber's last post though. "Zombie Dogs" hahahaaha

Cue weird, creepy dream sequence.
C'mon Elfen!!!
But apparently the two in charge of this RP must be on some sort of a vacation.
