Craft that, and you can burn stuff with right click. Be careful with that, its very dangerous, any wood within like 4 or 5 blocks of it can catch on fire, and fire can start spreading fast.
I just burned a little bit of wood and my entire forest catched on fire.
The annoying thing about trees though, is that part of the wood will just stay on fire forever until you cut it down. The leaves however... none will survive.
You mean 36 years old man with a life and he always loved the damn ships, had everything on paper and when he saw Minecraft, realized he had an opportunity to recreate it?
And here is the pyramid we are working on. The picture from inside with the white at the top of the pyramid is actually a cloud going through it because it is so high.
I have to insist on how much the diablofan thumbnail is shit. Anything that won't let me open each pictures in a separate windows, where I can zoom in and out because my resolution is low, is complete fail.
Awesome project, though. Wish my friends didn't all say "this suck" when I tried to show them Minecraft.
Just a big fancy house. I don't know if he could ever implement some kind of ability to make designated blocks moved together, so you could make a moving flying house (example), moving ship, whatever.
This isn't a personal thing: I'm just asking to know what kind of games you've grown with.
I swear, my children will not touch any modern console crap until they're above 10. SNES, NES and games pre-1994 will be all they see.
I have some friends still, though, my age (20) but they still can't play something "as ugly as Minecraft".
All I have to say is, your loss. Be it because of what games you're used to, or if its just part of your personality, you really should think about changing it. If I could only let myself play "good looking recent games", I would have abandoned gaming by now.
Ocean water is not infinite. You can dig on nearby land and the water will "pour" over but it won't be as high and will look like shit. You can "take" water from the biggest water sources and the water around starts flowing towards that point, making it look like shit.
I have a lot of problem understanding how water truly works, but all I do know is that to make an infinite water sources, you make a 2x2 box and put 2 bucket of water in 2 opposite corners. When the water collides like that, then the water keep "recreating" itself when you take any.
You're better to just bring extra of something, I generally bring 128 sands or more and stack 2 big vertical lines, when you're on top you can dig one to get back down without a scratch. (I prefer to waste sands on this, I generally have way more than I can spend, but I can always use dirt).
I'm not really sure about snow. I don't like it personally feel like I'm playing the game near Santa's workshop, so I reloaded the map until I got none.
The only problem with it is that its permanent. Its also snowing forever. Its a bit lame. But he plans to make it seasonal eventually, so sometimes there would be snow, that would be great.
Still you can remove or put back the snow with the editor, problem is when you remove the snow nothing melts on its own, so all the snow and ice you have to remove.
This game increases spawns. Try easy then hard you'll notice quite a bit more, or at least i did.
I heard rare had less spawns... or at least, thats the wiki said somewhere... which is really, really silly.
This game is only difficult in specific places but especially in caves, when you're far away from the outside or something. Or getting attacked by skeleton archers when there's a lot of water, thats just so ridiculous.
But I do agree the game is too easy in general. I wish they would do more on higher difficulties, even have some means to break the shelter you are in or something. Its just way too easy to be safe.
So I have started playing this game. Firstly, there is no learning curve which I do not like. there is absolutely no guidance on what to do. With that said, yes this game is addicting. You just keep digging and digging. I was wondering what the aim of the game is though. Is it just to eventually build some cool things? I have heard that there are actual dungeons to defeat with treasure chests at the end, is this true? Basically, what keeps you playing this game?
Building, really. There are different levels of resources (Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond) which allows you make better equipment and armors. Besides that, all of what you find can be used for looks and style. There's also that Redstone thing which has a even more use apparently. I'm not there yet, though. Boats and minecarts are something that are very possible but I have yet to tackle this.
Its a sandbox game anyway. I build stuff, and I build more stuff, and I think of how to make something look better or to build something new or original. More foreign stuff can take more time to build, if you want to build with Gold or Diamond its all fine, but I'm sure I'll have a heck of a time finding the resources for it.
I have no idea though, why it is so addictive to just to find the resources you need and put them to use, even though the process can ultimately be a very long one. I don't personally have an ultimate goal, though. Which makes one wonder how long they will be playing the game...
Not perfect, and still a bit too silly looking (this is really only about the monster: I really wish they could look a bit better than that...). The combat is limited and there is a lack of variety on that part, though there seems to be more planned.
Of course this is just the Alpha stage. I've had lots of fun with it. Then I removed the snow from the map with the editor. Then the map wouldn't work anymore. And my backup didn't work either for no reason. I was so pissed.
I was surprised to find it a bit laggy at times, especially during nights, on my 3.4 ghz. Its not always and not a big lag, but its noticeable.
Makes from some fancy blocks, good luck building a whole house out of it though.

But yeah, no such things yet!

I love snow, but its too permanent for my taste.

I'm thinking of supporting it.
