Well you heard it from the hamster master. It's a good game.
I'm on my 3rd go around imported from ME1. This time I'm an Adept, and I'm gonna try to stay away from renegade if I can. I dunno though, its hard.
I think one thing I'm disappointed in so far are the power weapons. Though I believed when they were designing them they didn't necessarily want there to be a single power weapon that could just magically solve all your problems. But ammo for them is seriously limited so I was hoping that with how limited it was that they would do more. I mean, the missile launcher for example is weak sauce. And the grenade launcher, total crap in my opinion. I love the Collector beam though. The flame thrower is pretty decent too when fighting a lot of organics.
You never got the Cain did you? That gun fucking rocks!!! It is totally a battle ender. I'm not going to spoil it for ya, but when you can get it, get it and use it. But yeah ammo should have been more plentiful, especially for the big weapons.
I'm going to start my second time through the game right now, and hopefully that will change for the next difficulty.
I love this game!! Possibly the best game I've ever played. Kicks Dragon Age's ass. And sorry to say it, but kicks DII's ass too.
I don't want to spoil anything about the story, but even that could have been better, in my opinion. There's a pretty interesting twist when you get farther into the game, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward. The missions are somewhat repetitive, as well. They usually consist of leaving the town/ship, fighting some baddies, fighting a stronger baddy or the boss baddy, end mission.
But every single area is vastly different, and finding the crew members is much different for each.
I honestly think that the mission system has been much improved. And I love the change to the surveying. So much easier and faster, plus it actually has a purpose.
As for Bioshock 2, I heard the same thing, that its kind of old and not as awesome now that the shock from the first game wore off.
You can't say something is Mass Effect unless the series has got more than two games following the same pattern and / or system.
Exactly. The story is very much Mass Effect, the conversations are very ME, the combat is very ME. They pretty much just got rid of all the bloatware in the game. On that note, the detail in ME2 is phenomenal!!
I can't get myself away from this game!! I've put in about 8 hours in just 2 days, and I worked both of these days too!
Combat system is 1000% better. I love the mission system, where it separates everything into, well, missions. I honestly think that the dialogue is much improved, and more realistic responses for those of us who like to go towards one extreme or the other. I want to just keep playing, but I need sleep and have to get up in a few hours for a Levi's commercial. Dammit!!
Yeah totally! I'm just surprised that there isn't more interest in this game on the forums here. I mean this game is most likely going to be game of the year competition with Starcraft 2.
Yeah I hear ya on that. I could see adding a little Diabloness to it with some variation in stats with different names. But I think the games strong point is the story, and not so much the item customization.
Yeah, I would have done that, but my Xbox got the Red Ring about 1 year ago, and I already ripped apart the harddrive and installed it in my PC for an extra 20 gigs. Not that I need it with my new 1 Terrabyte drive. X)

What's going to be weird for me is that I played Mass Effect on Xbox, so the control scheme on PC will take a little to get used to.
My Collector's Edition has been pre ordered! Woooooo!!!!
