I agree about the mods not being a must, but I have to say that they bring a lot in terms of ideas for future titles. When I mean ideas, I mean good ideas, not the crap they've been spewing out of the mouths for the last 3 months now =/
That's exactly what I meant. While I don't play around or use mods very much, some of the stuff people come up with is amazing.

Yea i agree with you Psyxix.... Mods are not really a must but are a plus... a big plus.
Indeed. I don't NEED mods, hell, I hardly ever play a modded version of a game (whether it be Valve games, etc.) but it goes hand in hand with the dedicated servers. Communities and clans won't die out necessarily but the game's life span won't be as long; it'll stagnate and die faster without the support of some of the amazingly creative people wanting to do things for it. Games like Counter-Strike and DoD:S have only been around as long as they have because of the dedicated community. If the Source engine had been unmoddable and there were no dedicated servers... *shivers*
As for the taking of mods and maps from the community without a thumbs-up or acknowledgment, bah. It's pathetic.

The game has been leaked for the pc and is download-able as a torrent already... How lame.
The most preordered game in history was sure to have the most cancelled preorders for the PC and most pirates. etc.
The last interview I saw they said they weren't even finished with the PC port. Hmmm...

Personally, I think that most console gamers are younger than the PC crowd. Consoles are generally cheaper and more available for those who aren't able to afford and/or maintain a gaming PC; a console game is developed with that console's limitations in mind, whereas PC game requirements can vary quite a bit.
I don't know... I tend to play with people my age and older anyway, so I'm probably just not seeing the younger crowd.
Exactly. Most of the people playing around with computers when they were kids in the late seventies to the eighties are grown up now, and that accounts for A LOT of gamers, programmers, etc. If you grew up in the past few years with a computer, though, the age of gamers would seem younger to you.
While it's true to say I've not played with every single person on the internet, I still feel I've had enough experience to state my opinion. The notion that you've not met/talked/gamed with every single person on the internet is a gross statement that could be applied to literally everything. For the two months that I spent in WoW I never played with every single sub, but that was still enough to make me cancel.

Console kiddie?
I'm fairly sure the majority of all console players are older than PC players.
Disagreed. >.> The majority of mates I play with are in their late twenties, and I know more than a few old guys. Dawds is that great of a game.
Here's another kicker for the game. x.X
