My original statement: "The reason I won't pay a monthly fee to play a game is not because I'm against corporations being money hungry whores..."
Quote from "muttonchops" »
One of the few ignorant statements I've heard where there was proper grammar. But I must bash you nonetheless. Do you shop at hot topic? Cuz with a statement like that, you sound exactly like one of those goths hanging outside the arcades in my town, owned by "money hungry whores" smoking cigarettes made by "money hungry whores". Before you go bashing corporations, saying how anti-corporation you are, look at the tags on your clothes.
If you listen closely you can hear me sigh every time I read your reply. After reading some of your previous replies to other posts, I thought you had at least a modicum of intelligence. How can you tell this sentence has proper grammar when you can't even deduce the meaning of it? I am most certainly NOT against corporations being money hungry whores; I think it is their inalienable right in a free market economy. I am very much "pro-corporation", and I said nothing in my statement to bash them. As for the rest of your nonsensical drivel, I will be lazy and reply with short answers so maybe you can understand them this time. I haven't hung out at an arcade in about 20 years, goths haven't been truly gothic in at least that long, and I smoke cigarettes ONLY because I love to smoke. I might have a problem checking the tags on my clothes, as most of them are faded to the point of being unreadable (from this you should gather that I prefer quality craftmanship to fashion).

2) Monthly fees does not make a game bad. Yes yes, we all know how absolutely badass you are when you say that you are not willing to pay some money hungry company a fee to play a good game, because you'd rather be a badass anti-corporate rebel who likes to buy clothes at Hot Topic (owned by Gap), and smoke cigarettes (owned by companies that want to kill you so they can buy an oriental rug). Money is the motivation for almost all things human in this world. Can't afford to pay a fee? Get a job.
The reason I won't pay a monthly fee to play a game is not because I'm against corporations being money hungry whores. My reason is this; call me old-fashioned, but if I bought the game, I already paid for it once. I see no reason to have to pay over and over again for something that I already own; you're not renting the software, you purchased it.
