Just seems to bite you in the ass more than it's worth.
Helping is one thing, sticking your nose into a controversial issue you have no part of when no one is asking for help is something completely different.
It's not really anything like that. I just think unless the situation truly threatens multiple other countries and possibly the world (IE: Nazis) then it's not our business. No one comes and kicks down our door and tells us how to run our country. So I wouldn't expect it to be the other way around.
How would you feel right now if you were eating a sandwich and someone came into your house and slapped it out of your hand and stomped on it?
Allowing an illegal immigrant to come into your country and do crap jobs, but not giving them citizenship or the ability to vote. Isnt that borderline slavery? Perhaps not your traditional iron and chain slavery but it achieves the same thing
I'm against bringing in the working underclass from another country - because that way, they have no rights and don't join unions or anything like that
Isn't there plenty or able bodied Americans, who are citizens and know English who can do those jobs?
Whoa I said nothing about them not being able to achieve citizenship, I believe there is a test is there not?
I just don't like them being able to vote while NOT as citizens.
I'm with you 100% on this one - but I can't turn a blind eye to reality just because I don't agree with how it is functioning. I wish that we could just deport all the illegals but we just can't. They are the backbone of our economy because they take all the jobs that nobody wants to get dirty doing. They also maintain a commanding voting pool that politicians capitalize on - it's rather disgusting.
Well I don't really have a problem with them, because they do like you said take a lot of the dirty jobs, but they shouldn't be allowed to vote, they're not citizens, and they should learn minimal English since we're a English speaking country.
Clearly you are underestimating the Spanish population in the states.
I'm not denying there are a lot of Spanish speaking people in the US, I just think if you live in the US you should be able to also speak and read basic English. That may just be ignorance on my part though.
I'm saying as the President of the US it was a dumb comment to make because so many people would expect "better" from someone representing the country.
Yeah but there isn't one person out there who has completely pure and nice thoughts all the time.
At least in my opinion.
I don't even know what he said but I'm glad he felt comfortable saying in both private and public. Honesty is something I admire.
Besides it's not like we have a perfect track record of our former presidents doing embarrassing things in the public eye.

I've never been for the "help other countries gain independence" thing really. It's not our job.

Sorry but I don't see the morality in that.
He can say it in private just fine but if he says it in front of people it's wrong?
