But the uploading of copyrighted stuff is illegal, though I'm not sure if that works for Demonoid, that site is kind of strange.
same thing about Rapidshare. The thing about storage sites is the hosts cant check all files for copyrighted (aka illegal) stuff. The links are mostly private to the uploaders and they can show them wherever they want. Its how many games/movies/programs are "smuggled" around the internet. The services are completely legal. The use of them is illegal.
i didnt know what you knew (didnt it sound funny?) and thats why i tried to explain it in the most simple way. No real need to get offended there.
You should know better than anyone, though, why everything thats moved through torrents isnt free of copyrights.
the service itself isnt. But as you may read on every torrent site "they dont have any responsibility for the torrents uploaded". In other words: if there are copyrighted torrents they dont get to pay for it allowing them move around freely (as they are) and if there is any sort of spyware on those they're not responsible either. Get what i mean now?
its still illegal. WoW runs on some private servers too but its not half as fun as it is on the officials. Besides we want hack-free and lag-free environment.
Horse Armor for Oblivion came out as a plug-in compilation called "Knights of the Nine" which is being sold for around 15-20 euro i think. All of the plug-ins are only allowed to be sold from the Oblivion makers only and not given away for free.
now thats interesting indeed. I still have the feeling that once we start playing online we'll be somehow "forced" to pay. We play those games for the items and to improve the characters mostly, dont we? I mean, otherwise we could just play single player. And making the elite items or what they're called unavailiable (not to mention different regions) its even worse than that (Pretty much what happened in WoW with Burning Crusade and everyone rushed to occuse Blizzard of "shutting out" everyone that wouldnt buy the expansion).
Hellgate: No montly subscription and you do not get content patches; montly subscitpion and you do.
you are forced to, as most will get them. Plus is it even possible to play online without making a subscription? Havent checked on it so its a question since i dont really know. Still its not a path i'm willing to follow. Diablo 2 had some minor content patches and was still free. And the patches also include bugfixes. Will we get the bugfixing patches for free?
i dont really like the way its going. "free single player, pay 2 play multiplayer". Nah, pay 2 play should work only on mmo's. Singleplayer games should remain as Diablo was if there's going to be a multiplayer. Cause that would make people (me included i think) feel arsed and not play it multiplayer if it wouldnt make me not buy it at all. I can finance even 2 mmo's at once, but singleplayer games that you have to pay to play multiplayer arent that good. I hope the market wont move that way or i wont follow.
