As I explained in IRC earlier Tyrael might not actually be "mortal" mortal. If that would be the case a new Archangel of Justice would've almost instantly popped out of the Crystal Arch. Instead he will likely reincarnate from the Arch when he dies "mortally".
My theory will go to waste once a new Archangel of Justice pops out of the Arch.
edit: And because someone said "well he did say "I'm... dying"" and then quit IRC, well, that was before he knew he was an Archangel, and even with that my theory up there still stands that he might've just reincarnated back from the Arch.
^^
But isn't he Wisdom now? So should a new one pop out anyway then or no?
Players complain that Diablo 3's storyline is worse than Diablo 2's, and yet the lead dev from Diablo 2 stated in an interview that the storyline for Diablo 3 was alot better and more fleshed out, compared to the poor story they tacked onto Diablo 2. The same person everyone says would have made such a better Diablo 3 admits that Diablo 3 is better than what they made in Diablo 2.
Guess people just look for reason to hate on anything that doesn't hold their attention for more than 6hrs of enjoyable entertainment.
To address Tyrael's "fall" to mortality... I'll pull a term from the movie Dogma... he transubstantiated. Removal of an angel's wings turns them mortal. Demons can't do it though. I know it's foolish to bring one form of fiction in with another here, but at least it's a SOMEWHAT relevant comparison.
I have a problem with this argument. If Nephalem were mortal it would be valid and correct. However Nephalem are not mere mortals. If you read the book of cain they are half Angel, Half demon. All mortals are Nephalem they all just forgot they had a ton of power (according to Book of Cain). So somehow an angel taking his wings off turns them into 50% demon? Its just confusing. They brought out this amazing book but completely went against the lore that the book gave.
Also i Agree 100% Tyrael kind of is a pansy in this game. I guess my hope for D3 lore wise (I love the game) was a tad different than what we got.
I don't think they "forgot" they had a ton of power. Remember the Worldstone was created to stop the Nephalems power from increasing. With that said the men of sanctuary probably had no qualities of the "inner power" that the Nephalem once possessed. Of course then it comes down to the heroes that we play in all 3 games. Each class has its own background in how they've obtained their skills and expertise.
Though the interesting one was the Wizard in D3, in the Wizard trailer they said that she/he was far more skilled than any other of the wizards (sorry I can't get it word for word its been ages since I've seen it). With that being said D3 takes place 20 years after the destruction of the Worldstone, and in the Wizard trailer he/she is described to be quite young, in their late teens. While Blizzard also stating that the Wizard is 19 years of age. So right there we can see that the effects of the Worldstone have started to wear off already because of the skill that the Wizard possesses at such a young age.
Um... the worldstone wasn't created for that purpose. They specifically say that heaven and hell had fought over it for thousands of years. They traitors of both sides took it and hid on sanctuary. It was just that had become scared of the power of the nephelam they had created and re purposed it to seal their powers
I thought it was funny in Act 4 when he 'lost hope' and then before you fight Diablo, he's all - hopeful, again. Such a mood swing, not manly at all.
He lost hope because Auriel (the Archangel of Hope) was captured. Upon freeing her hope was restored to the heavens. It wasn't exactly a "mood swing"
Yeah, but he isn't part of the heavens anymore :o. The thing that pissed me off the most how they made all the souls of the evils magically appear in the black soulstone. They were just like oh Adria did that... wtf
