I don't think many of you know what viable means nor do you have any idea how I plan on getting to 60 and past Inferno aside from spending obscene amounts of time.
The term "rush" implies that you actually rush in the game itself (i.e., skip levels). One can rush with a lot of free time or little free time. I think that's what most of the people here are referring to: that you will progress through the game in a manner that is not cautious. And they believe it will gimp you in the long run, as do I.
"I will invest obscene amounts of time" is quite irrelevant to the rushing aspect. You can do so while playing very cautiously. And, obviously, with more time, you can die and re-run more often. Could this potentially mean you can get higher on the ladder with a more bullheaded attitude? Maybe. All I know is I won't respect it and not consider it a proper playing of HC. I like HC specifically because it discourages rushing like an idiot.
Or, you won't really be rushing. I.e., you'll be playing like everyone else except you have more time to play, which isn't really that interesting.
Yeah. I'm just gonna quietly go through hardcore super carefully.
I always thought avoiding dying was more valued in hardcore than quickly doing something. Of course, if you can avoid dying quickly, that's even better, but I don't know.

So which one is it?
