I just noticed something. Isn't Snotspill the guy who stole the tavern sign in Diablo 1?
Good ol' Snotspill. He's all like, "Hey - You that one that kill all! You get me Magic Banner or we attack! You no leave with life! You kill big uglies and give back Magic. Go past corner and door, find uglies. You give, you go!"
I love that little guy, i give the sign to ogden seeing as how snotspill and his army attack you anyway. plus i get a nifty little helmet out of it that way.
@ Snotspill (the forum member)
while i do enjoy calvin and hobbs, i think having a picture of snotspill as your avatar would be more befitting

Anyway, we do seem to need someone to kill those spam bots when Elfen is offline.
I feed bad for Elfen sometimes just because everyone expects him to be the one to solve all these problems. Our absent admins aside, there are also other moderators on the site who also leave everything up to Elfen.
yes, i dont mind that im the "go to" guy. someone has to be him. But some of the questions and requests are things that if you just used the search function on the site you would get your answer.
But overall you guys arent to demanding, But do try and remember i cant be here 24 hours a day. that is what a mod in a different time zone is (suppose to be) for.
contrary to popular belief mods/admins do have lives, i know what a shocker, if we are not here chances are something in the real world, often less fun than being here, has called us away, sometimes for extended periods of time.

Do you think Umaro or mockery is on here browsing long enough to know who would be suitable? I think it's good for the members to nominate, and the admins/moderators to make the final vote
Umaro is here fairly often but mostly as a guest, he will only log in when he has to say something.

but id rather make someone a mod who deserves the job and will be well liked in the role. i dont want someone to become a mod if they arent well liked. I wouldnt want someone who will go all "Nazi" on someones ass. it might be fun to see but that not their job, they are here to make this place more enjoyable, make sure no unsuitable material is present, make sure threads and posts are in the right place, this is easily done if posters think it thru and please use the edit button, you dont have to make a new post after you hit submit and think "whoops forgot to say something", just hit edit.

it was a small glitch where anyone with a custom user title could view that mod forums...fixed now
really thats what is was? but Darkjay along with thatdude, Maestro, Acidreign and Opus Dei didnt have custom titles. guess they got there status' revoked. or the forum was just switched so only super mods can view it, either way its the same effect.

hmm unless some people just their status' removed that list seems a little small
Admins: Umaro, Mockery, Demine0, Odijuar
Super Mods: Elfen Lied, Silversurfnstud
Mods: Darkjay, Opus Dei, AcidReign, Maestro, Thatdude, Cyks.
well everyone in the mod category can view the moderator only forums (as can the Super Mods) so i assume they are mods.
but as you may have gathered some of these people havent been on in awhile, it would be nice to add some new people who are here more regularily.

but some of us are pretty busy with other things, i try get on here in more of a moderator capacity as often as i can, but with 8 hour days 6 days a week with no computer is often hard enough to post the little amount i do now, but i do try to get on here and mod as often as i can.

Agreed. I think the case with these forums is that at the moment another moderator isn't necessary, but there's no harm in reducing the workload for the current staff.
flame is the bigger problem i think, but generally if people thought about, i mean really thought about what they are going to say most of the heavy flame wouldnt exist. most people here are pretty good at that, but i cant stand it when i thread about something like what classes might be in D3 turns into lunchtime in the elementry school yard. i want to see what people would like to see in D3, why should i have to put up with people resorting to childish name calling.
I usually just delete most of it, but im kinda falling behind lately, ive been working longer and harder hours and im rather beat by the end of the day.

Yeh, we really do need more mods. Elfen doesn't seem to be too active lately xD
im here everyday, but i mostly work with the general stuff, deleting/moving threads to where they should be, merging posts when people could have just used the edit button.
i dont work with flam-athons, and heated debates much, they are really my forte, thats more of a PhrozenDragon thing i think.

when there's something spamy on your forums, who ya gonna call, Bot Busters, when there something wierd and it dont look good, who ya gonna call, Bot Busters, di ni ni ni ni, di ni ni ni.....
I believe that Phrozen gets my vote. He has the maturity, experience, and activity of a mod.
second.

My question is, is if you become a moderator, are you given access to the sections that allow you to delet/close threads? And if someone is blatantly flaming/trolling, what are the typical actions a mod or admin would take against them? The other forum I'm on, I see people banned. But that was usually after that user received several warnings first.
once you are made a mod you can edit/delete/move/stick/unstick/close posts/threads in all areas except for the areas only for admins or people with more rights than you have.
we do give warnings but most ofthe bannings are for people who come on flame the hell out of everyone they can posts absolute crap no one wants to read then in some case leave after. we ban them to stop them returning.
generally people arent to bad o nthis forum, they might get into a pretty heated discussion with someone or some people but its usally only in the one thread, which is mostly of a philosophical nature so its bound to attract some disagreement. but no people arent to bad here, ive seen worse, way worse.

PhrozenDragon gets my vote, Sianoq would be good too.
though i think that when the site grows a little more, we good have mods who moderate specific areas of this forum. say 1 or 2 mods for philosphica discussions, 1 for Diablo lore (namely Solomir) 2 or 3 for general discussion. and Silver and I as super mods. just an idea i thought id throw it out there.
