This is actually a follower upgrade, but I thought it was interesting enough to post.
The knockback (43.6%) combines well with the Scoundrels Blind skill and triple shot. Many of these gimmicky props found on Legends work wonders on followers. Nice that this WF rolled with 192 dex as the RMP too.
....and I found this for my monk last week.
I really got boned on the RMP's. GF and a piss-ant amount of cold res (my Monk rolls Phys) and an almost insignificant amount of str/dex. Even with such horrid rolls, this little beaut added almost 8k to my detail sheet. The IAS and CD also helps recover life faster via LoH and LS, though I gave up some 300 armor, 40 resist and 130 dex to use it.
Time to revive this thread again. Yesterday I found a manticore! I identify it and notice right away that it had 2 sockets(!!) and then I had a look at the rest of the stats... it...was....awesome (gave me a 20k dps increase). Also posting a pic on Inna's Temperance that I also found.
Awesome grabs brother.
I found a personal record of 9 legendaries in my usual 3 hour after work session. Of the 9, only one was worth mention. A Dead Man's Legacy with 11% IAS, rendering it of very little value, if any. Got a double legend drop from a goblin for the first time as well. The other Legs I cropped were 3 Spirit Stones (they need to fix those badly), 2 Frostburns, Dark Mage Shade, Stormcrow, Gibinn....Brutal.
I did add an upgrade to my character though. A 40 dex Witching Hour found last week that boosted my DPS by over 7k. It's in my profile linked in my siggy. 40 dex sucked but that WH just amps DPS so well.
You have to be over 'the hump' to start finding good gear. And most people get over that hump by resorting to the AH.
Your confusion is understandable.
People talk about this 'hump' or 'wall' as if it's a bad thing, or somehow exclusive to Diablo 3. I've experienced this wall in all games of this genre. Guild Wars, I remember having to farm ectos to get going, until finally I got that big drop.
Diablo 2, I remember actually hustling Pgems to people that rolled Ball GC's. They paid 1 HR per 40 Pgems. I did this until finally, I got that big drop and rode right over that hump.
In D3, you get over that hump much the same way. You work hard and lean on a little bit of luck.
I'm now wearing 6 pieces on a solid character that can (and does) easily farm MP6. It would be 7, but I upgraded my self-found Inna's in favor of a Mempo. But to do this, I had to make gold. To make gold I had to play. I got a nice drop by way of IK boots and that really helped me solve a few standing issues I had.
The AH is a vehicle that has the same use, the same advantage, that we see in most/all other games. I thought I would hate it. I actually really like this convenient trade vehicle.
sadly i dont have my last self found uppgrade anymore since it was like 4-5 months ago i acctually found an uppgrade for my barb.
you sure the fact that you guys have found uppgrades isnt a bug or something?
I'm wearing 6 self-founds upgrades as of now. Not bad for a char that can farm MP6 with great ease.
The false idea that there is only an infintesimal chance at a good self-find was the inspiration for me to create this thread. Of course......all experiences are strictly subject to individual luck.....but as my father always said "Luck is usually your reward for effort".
Found these this morning. Nothing godly, that's for sure. But a very nice roll and +50 Phys resist, which my Monk uses. Stood as a fine upgrade over some shoddy Prowlers I was using.
My monk's Natalya's Bloody Footprints. It actually convinced me to make a monk alt. Did also pick up an Inna's Radiance, but sold it to get a better one.
That's it. Though I found various godly items that sold for a few 100m+ that covered some upgrades.
I've done lots of farming, played quite a bit of hours, found many many Legendaries......but to date, my biggest sale stands at 16.5mil. My friends go on about how "lucky" I am, due to my penchant for finding Legs, but my luck ends at the drop and doesn't go toward the rolls.
Another self-found upgrade, which is getting more and more difficult as I go forward; This makes a total of 5 pieces that I wear that are self-found.
The RMP (+10 min damage) was a bit disappointing, but it stood as a great upgrade nonetheless. It works well with my Blackthorne's gear as it gives me a total of 20% damage reduction from Elites and 1200 life regen per sec.
lol.....wow
Great find. Not 'OMFG GODLY' but those are nice for lvl58

I hate to hear that your luck isn't shining yet. Keep on keepin on.
....and yes, it is possible. Review the many pages of this thread for verification. Inspiration aplenty.

How many people are going to truly appreciate this find?
Awesome offhand.

How is that even possible? Do you only consider an item an upgrade if it's name starts with the letter 'J'?
