I was in a pretty serious guild in WoW and while it's nice to have someone to play with, there are downsides.
It'll be nice to just log on and have someone to play with. SC2 is a ghost town, but in WoW if you're guilded you get on and you're instantly greeted by a MotD and guild chat. The game is alive and social. I look forward to logging in and seeing RedPandaGroup chat going while I jump in game.
Obviously this is going to be a pretty low key/chill group. No "YOU MUST HAVE HELL DONE BY THIS DAY OR YOU'RE KICKED OUT." I'm not worried about progressing slowly, but I don't need someone trying to tell me what to do. I get stressed by my wife and my job and eventually I will be stressed by my kids (when I have a couple). I don't need my gaming to do that, too.
Sounds like this will be a smaller, self-regulating group. If someone causes trouble and trolls other players, they will be shunned and removed from everyone's lists, then we don't have to deal with it.
Let's just say I had a level 99 hardcore throwing axe barbarian that died to a bone fetish unique exploding in my face.
Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game (D&D) or board game before?
In 2001 I lived in Japan and was in a Japanese Counter-strike clan. I didn't speak much Japanese, but since I was pretty good they kept me around. WoW Vanilla through TBC I raided as a tank, stopped raiding quite as much (work) during TBC.
What class do you plan to start with?
Wizard! Will probably have all 5 to 60 in the first couple months.
Do you plan on rushing or taking your time through Normal? If you're taking your time, what will you be doing for Nightmare / Hell / Inferno?
I'm not sure if rush is the right word, because I'm not going to skip lore or story or exploring, I'm just going to play A LOT during the first 3-4 days. Taking vacation time. After my vacation is over I'll be playing a few hours a day most days unless I'm spending time with the wife.
I'm also interested in Chaboii's launch group, so not sure exactly how I'm going to play the launch aside from playing a ton.
How often will you be able to play?
I'll be working graveyard or late night mostly, so I'll play almost every weekday during the day for a few hours.
Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use Ventrilo? (If you answer no to this - then, well, you didn't read my OP :))
I HAS.
Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
More people will come if you tell them we have punch and pie.
What timezone are you in?
Pacific.
Are you over the age of 18?
27, married w/ beagle. Full time job.
Will you share and trade within the group as much as you can, or just a little?
As much as I can.
Will you prefer co-op or playing alone?
Co-op, but I has no gamer friends.
