Sorry guys for refreshing this old topic but I didn't want to create a new one. I have a question to you, Razer BlackWidow users. I'm going to buy it next week and I'm wondering (as it is shiny and black) how do you keep it clean out of fingerprints, dust, etc. I know they provide a plastic cover in the packaging but it has to be a kind of dirsty after the day of using, isn't it?
I got the Blackwidow Ultimate and yes it does leave fingerprints but it is not as bad as you would think. The dust looks worst than the fingerprints so I keep a can of air close by and blow it off every once in a while. I have a dark room for my computer, so I don't even bother with the fingerprints because you can't even see them without a glare.
Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up ordering a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate today. My reasons are as follows.
1)I want a keyboard that supports macros
2)I want a keyboard that is backlit
3)I have been reading about mechanical keyboards and now I think they are the best option
4)I want a keyboard with the ability to shut off the windows key
I think with the reasons that I listed above, the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is a no brainer. Thanks for the information and helping me make my decision. I knew next to nothing about mechanical keyboards and didn't even know that they were available for gaming keyboards prior to reading these posts.
I use the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate and absolutely love it. LEDs and all, it's by far the best keyboard i've owned. Feels great, has plenty of customizability, is mechanical, and is quite shiny.
Yeah, i was gonna get the steelseries mechanical keyboards but TBH their design looked a bit bland and uninspired. I like stuff around my computer area to look cool and be functional, so the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate was a splendid choice. I give it 5 stars (out of 5)
I have a couple of questions on how the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate works for everyone who has one.
1)I know that you can assign macros to the "m" keys and you can have 10 or so profiles. Can you quickly switch between between profiles while in the middle of a game. If not, how do you choose a profile? Im not sure if 5 m keys would be enough.
2)Are the profiles stored on the actual keyboard or on the PC? After setting the keyboard on one PC, if I went to another PC, would my personal settings need to be recreated?
Thanks everyone for the info you've been giving me.
Yes, the other screen I use for other things. Example: When the PGA Championship is on this week, the left monitor will be used for gaming, the right monitor will be on Tiger Woods winning another major. I actually have 2 other monitors that are both 24in. One of those will have my system perf, and the other will have my RSS feed.
What about the steelseries shift with the MMO Keyset? I know that is not mechanical, but it uses a "special rubber." It has some decent reviews, but I hate buying a keyboard that cost that much without being sure.
I am currently figuring out the specs for my next gaming PC designed specifically for Diablo 3. I purchased two 30in 2560x1600 monitors. Now I all need is to get a excellent keyboard and mouse. I decided that I want the steelseries Diablo 3 mouse. It has up to 5,000CPI, 7 programmable buttons that allow for macros, and it looks awesome(see link below). That leaves the keyboard. I feel a little lost and need some help.

Would the MMO Keyset be an advantage in Diablo 3?
