fuck off! i read the subject..it says guns!! in any form smartass, i dont want it in diablo 3...now u can play smart and writte pages and pages of powder history or how some npc from d1 said he would make guns, i just stated an opinion..either u like like it or not i dont care..just u and other like u who give +1 shit or write several pages about nothing dont play smartasses because you have issues..if we dont like guns we dont ..so shut up smartass retard!
Just so you know incase you're talking to me. I don't mind if people just say "I don't like guns." That's fine with me. It's when they try to justify it with reasons that just don't make too much sense.
I don't really want to see guns or hand cannons in D3 either but it's fun to speculate about how they would put them in. I don't expect to see them in D3 nor do I really have much of a want for them, but if their history is anything like ours advancement wise then it's about that time. They're in the 1300's in Sanctuary I think it says in the Paladin lore in the manual.
Anyway I think the title of this thread should be changed to "Cannons in Diablo 3? Maybe?"
well upgrading is fine with me. maybe imbueing, that also makes sense to me.
Well I mean like say you have 5 acts like in D2.
Each act provides a different looking handcannon with slightly more damage.
The magic ammo can also be bought in the shops but no more magic than the weapons you'd find in D2 shops.
Then unique, magic and rare ammos can drop as you play as well. They can be created by a magical blacksmith or enchanted by a powerful sorcerer. However you want to think it happened.
Damnit! Because they'll all be wielding AK's and MP5's and bazookas, and nukes, and death stars! And as we all know, they can't be magic!
Yeah magic has firmly put it's foot down and said NO to hand cannons. Lol.
But bows, crossbows, staffs, wands, daggers, axes, maces, swords, spears, rings, amulets, charms, and every other piece of armor is fine.

by mods i mean the stats weapons have.. Like for shako. +300 mana or w/e + 2 to all skills
a portable shouldnt have any kind of mods at all.
I can't see why not. Everything else does...
Anyway what if they made it to where you start with a handcannon, then you buy one in every town for a slight upgrade but the ammo is what really has all the magic etc etc. Kind of the reverse of arrows/bolts.
as siaynoq said, there elemental dmg can come from the ammo and same with the mods. Do bows use gun powder to shoot?? bows and cannons are nothing alike..
By mods you mean runes/gems/etc?
Why not? It's the same theory as the bow. It's one object propelling a different object.
No a bow doesn't use gunpowder it uses your arm pulling the sting back. It's the same effect.
hehehe lol, i had a totally diff pic of a portal cannon in my head... so basically if they do have that, it cant be magical there cant be no unique ones, there cant be mods with a gun, there cant be elemental dmg with a that.
.... Why the hell not?
Bows are magic and unique and mods and elemental damage?
u talkin about PvP?? or some kinda demon like creature... PvP is a diff story... portable cannons..... that makes sense, a char able to carry that and even ammo....
I'm guessing you haven't even LOOKED at the opening post?
Back on topic though. Since this is about ranged weaponry. What do you figure that they're gonna bring back the Ammo collection, and if they'll give the ammo unique properties.
What kind ammo could a firearm have?
A leather bag full of pellets/balls/rounds whatever you want to call them. Just metal balls.
They arn't mages, they are forbidden from magic, and they use devices that use magic instead of using it themselves so they can't be corrupted like the mages.
Well they're part of the Vizjerei mage clan right? At least that's what I'm reading. The Vizjerei created a sort of fail safe.
I didn't mean that the Assassins actually used magic. I know they don't it says so right here in the manual. They use "ingenius devices" and draw their power from within rather than outside sources that can be corrupted by demonic influence.
But everyone should know that "Allah" is just "God" in Arabic, nothing else. Not like "Buddha" as an example. Your just using the Arabic word for 'God'.
Which is a even more awesome image. God all buff wearing a white flowing robe and bandana smoking a cigar and holding a nuke over one shoulder and a small machine gun in the other hand.

Not in this case. It means I don't want them in the game, but I can't see a reason they CAN'T be.
I'd be happier if they didn't add them, but I like to speculate.

Read my edit in my last post though.

I'm talking all around use.

That's a hand cannon.
It's about as big as a club.
... You don't think a PISTOL would do damage to something with human anatomy?
Okay you tell that to the hundreds of people being shot at this second.
We're not even suggesting pistols we're suggesting siege cannons and then portable hand cannons.
/facepalm
Don't bother posting if you're not going to read.
No one is suggesting nukes, not even close.
There is no reason.
Obviously in D2 we had skills that could hit monsters all the way off the edge of the screen and it didn't make anything too easy.

I don't think they are. The LoD manual concept art is pretty Asian looking though, at least armor and weapon wise.
The Assassins as just mages trained to kill mages I think.
To ensure what happened with Bartuc and Horazon never happens again the Order of the Mage Slayers was created.
I got the manual next to me but I don't feel like typing out the whole page.
