I've played Diablo and am still playing Diablo 2 and I think that if a game can keep that many people entertained for the better part of 7 years, then Blizzard must know what they are doing. I have all the faith in the world that Diablo 3 will be the game that we all have waited soooo long for.
Keep in mind that it was Blizzard North that made the previous games. Most if not all of the people working on D3 did not touch d1 or d2.
WE ARE COMPLAINING THAT THE TEXTURES LOOK WoWISH AND LOOKS VERY DULL AND WASHED.
Besides the caps, I sort of agree with you here. The textures seem dated. I understand they want to appeal to a broad range of PC gamers... but the MAX setting should look up to date. The gameplay trailer looks like it should be...maybe medium settings.
Either way I am going to play the shit out of this game. But better textures/some spooky areas will be a plus.
I believe a happy medium should be found. It looks great, don't get me wrong... but I think that (from what is seen in the gameplay trailers) it should be a bit less saturated, and have a lot more areas that are dark.
I don't want to be sure of what is around every corner that is on my screen...
I also think that it could be be bump-maped a bit more.
Having a light radius that is wider than what we have seen in the previous games might help this out.
Now- this all being said... if you guys already have dungeons that are dark, and a day/night cycle...where day is not so spooky...and night time IS... keep it up. You know what you're doing.
