Good post. Hopefully, Blizzard considers those suggestions.

"[Diablo1+2] obviously had the gothic look to it, but, you they weren't, they weren't very uh, very colorful games."
"We want to take dark as an emotion, rather than an actual color art choice." -Rob Pardo
"Why the hell shouldn't it be for 'kiddies', it's a goddamn game afterall." -lethlan
it has many flaws - horrible fps issues, crashes, problems running the game even with top of the line computers, little content for level 80 and there's plenty more i could name,
So because Age of Conan has little content and bugs - the graphics are at fault???
Did you not read my post??
I didnt say COPY AoC and call it D3.
I said use the "G-R-A-P-H-I-C-S FROM AOC", leave the content from blizzard.
What is so hard to understand??

I would never ask them to upgrade those shaders and bloom at the price of gameplay or game length.
Game length is not an excuse for cartoony, blocky graphics. sigh
One team works on the content (the length of stuff to do)
Another team works on the graphics engine.
They are different teams. Far Cry looked amazing at release and it was very long (almost too long ^_^).

also, Cartoony? gimme a break.. the best FPS out there right now, TF2 and unlike TFC its not boring to look at or does it get dull.
That's the point. We have different tastes.
You like cartoony graphics like TF2, WoW because " its not boring to look at".
For me Age of Conan is "not boring to look at".
If D3 had the graphics from AoC and content from Blizzard, that would be perfect for me.

I meant that some people complain about "HIGH system requirements".
I meant this complaint has absolutely no validity.

Um, I don't think they released the system requirements?
currently, the system requirements for D3 are clearly low.
Just look at it...
It's pathetic by today's standards.

I never said that. I said that complaining about the graphics without complaining about the technology is pointless.
We DO complain about technology. Not all of us though.
I think they can make it look better than modern RPG's. People have had 10 years to save up for a new computer between 2000 and 2010 (about 640$).
High system requirements is not an excuse for blocky, cartoon graphics.
edit: "High - system - requirements complaint" is NOT an excuse for Blizzard to make blocky, cartoon graphics.

Designers came out an experience of 5 years drawing only wcish and wowish things.... give them some time.
you're right.
That's the biggest problem; they imitate what they have always worked on.

color pallette like that as far as today's standards would be boring.
WTF? Have you seen today's RPG's???
They look gritty, dark, brutal, most importantly **R-E-A-L**. They don't look like blocky cartoons. Maybe you think blocky cartoons look 'fun'; then say so.
Don't say "modern RPG's are boring".
How many times do i have to post screens from modern games FFS??

If not I think they should improve it a bit since some parts looked like too smooth.. the grass outdoors was really undetailed.. when I watched these things it really felt like they weren't finished yet.
yes, you're right, textures are smooth.
Have you seen WoW textures? I don't think i need to post more pics, just read the thread.
WoW textures have always been hand-painted/cartoony or "smooth"
One of the developers even said "there's plenty of room for both WoW and Diablo".

They havent even said making it more "gothic/dark/detailed" would make it look any worse.
yep, we just want improvement.
No one said Diablo 3 is complete garbage.
I like fluid animations, spells, skills, familiar monsters, huge bosses, etc.
But the graphics still need improvement. They look like something from 2002 FFS.

Just cause I like Wow doesn't mean I want all games to look like it.
Then you won't mind if they improve graphics towards realism.:)

Hey, i don't know if any one noticed that. But besides this crappy looking art design.
DId anyone notice how does the items in inventory look like ??
They are so small, and each is only one square big, just like in WoW !!!!! Thats a crime!!!!
Do You remember those perfect looking unique items in Your inventory in D2!!!!??? Blizzard c'mon!!! Don't give us this crap!!! Hello!!!
agree. I loved the realistic weapons and armor that looked like you could pick up.
Look here:
Does this inventory hand-painted axe look like something *YOU* could hold? Fuck no.

I do see a resemblance to cartoony characters. Personally, it doesn't bother me much. I never really pay too much attention to what my character looks like anyway. If it was a chicken suit that made them a badass I'd still wear it.
lol at least you're honest.

you guys have to remember, D3 isnt cartoony, its just the best they can do in 3D without creating an Uber Hardware Hog game.
we already covered this.
640$ machine can run Crysis on High. (not Ultra settings)
Expensive systems is not an excuse for using graphics from 2002 for a game scheduled for around 2010.
