he made up stuff, just like the Nico person or how hes called. Not just things without any credibility, but it was pretty obvious he was lying too. Anyway, Ryans story failed a while ago, and the info we got in here is pretty obvious thats fake too. There might be something with the name but no real connection with the rest of the stuff "some" tried to connect to.
I don't think Diablo falls under neither of them, its like a mythology on its own.
amen!
To make a comparison, TQ is based on Greek mythology, Loki on Norwegian Mythology and Diablo on Diablo mythology
exactly! And i was considered an idiot for saying that the Diablo storyline isnt directly connected with Greek Mythology but has taken some elements from most existing mythologies and cultures (Act 2, Egypt, Act 3, Aztecs etc).
Anyway, i dont think the supporters of "Diablo storyline is Greek Mythology with different names" have something to oppose our arguement.
If you can't understand this than it is not my problem. you should maybe take Mythology in highschool if your still in it, and if your not, good luck! Remember where Hell came from? OH YEAH!!! HADES!!! and GREEK MYTHOLOGY!!!
rofl, you're a funny guy.
I did greek mythology since i was a child, cause know something new? I'm Greek you idiot! I know way more about that than you manage to find on wikipedia. And i know those things for years. I read it as a child for fun, i did it in primary school and highschool, so believe me, i know it well (together with ancient greek language, tragedies and poetry). And Hell the way most people know it and Diablo tends to show it is more like the way its in Christianity, not Hades (Underworld). Hades was the natural place the dead go (according to Greek Mythology). Hell is the residence of demons and Lucifer (and anything thats evil) in Christianity. What looks more related to Diablo?
your stupidity blinds you.......
Both of us are not saying that D2 and Greek mythology are the exact same story we have only been saying that the IDEAS and names relate with Greek mythology.
thanks for another non flaming arguement on your behalf (irony mode off).
you are saying that the ideas and names relate with greek mythology, but in your game you try to connect the Diablo storyline with the ancient greek mythological events. How is that different than "trying to connect ancient greek mythological events with the Diablo storyline"?
Again, its not me thats stupid. Its you that dont have the brains to understand what i'm saying in ALL of my posts.
Now drink your milk and calm down. Maybe when you grow up and learn how to think you'll understand.
Personally, I think many things can be easily related to Greek mythology, especially Diablo. Face it, Greek mythology lays out the foundations to the underworld and beings in it as well as a war with gods and other such conflicts. Admit it - it's there. I'm not saying Diablo copies mythology, but it relates to some parts of it.
aye, most games tend to "take" stuff from greek mythology. But its not necessarily all connected with it. Trying to make big connections (like the ones tried here) is like saying that the Diablo storyline is greek mythology with different names and slightly different setting (which of course isnt the case).
I hope your feeling is right about BlizzCon. I feel the exact opposite, though, and i really hope i'm wrong.
if there wasnt hope we wouldnt be here, would we?
My guess would be that latest next year we'll have the announcement of Diablo 3. I dont have nothing to support it any i dont work for Blizzard. Its just what would make sense to me if i was working on a marketing section of a company as Blizzard.
None would risk loosing their dream jobs (working for Blizzard is a dream job to any games developer) to simply give us hope. They know we'll wait for it anyway and no matter how dissappointed or pissed we get for it coming out late, we'll buy it anyway. Think of StarCraft II. We really had no real clues till the day before the announcement (when the whole Medusa thing came up). I really doubt we'll have valid clues so early if there's really going to be an announcement in BlizzCon.
It's one thing to be a gamer, totally another thing to invest a large portion of your life into an online cartoon that is repetitave as hell.
i found this statement quite funny, since almost everyone in here did the exact same thing for Diablo/Diablo II. Just a game "looking childish" doesnt change that statement. There are 2 kinds of gamers. Casual and Hardcore. The casuals can exist in WoW too. Play for fun for a short time and go out, do whatever they want (watch tv, meet with other people or whatever). The hardcore gamers invest in their game. They use their time to become the best (or get close to it). And sometimes pass on some other things if they dont believe its worth the effort. Its their opinion. And their choice too. None could judge them and call them loosers or whatever. They could do the exact same thing.
the NicoV clues dont make any sense btw and arent connected with each other. I dont think they're a lead to anything. Bit less than 2 months and we'll know for sure anyway.
in greek mythology, Kronos (the leading Titan) was the father of the gods. They may have lost the war to the gods but only cause Zeus tricked him and had him throw up and release the rest of the gods aswell (he ate them all).

Might I add that even religion has a base. Christianity plays a role in the Diablo universe.
they take elements of everywhere. For example, they took Heaven and Hell from Christianity but they added multiple godlike entities like in many religions before Christianity was so widely spread. They wanted to create a conflict. A major one in which every major entity had its own domain. I wasnt saying it was completely irrelevant, i was only saying its not "just" from it. Its elements taken from anywhere they suited. Same with the monsters we see.
Yes but FingolfinGR stated that Greek Mythology has no ties to D2. That is what i was getting at, since that was something he was arguing with me about.
i was saying that everyone takes ideas from everywhere. It doesnt have to be a copy of something. The name "Azmodan" (one of the lesser evils) is greek too. Its one of the devils names to be precise. It doesnt mean that Greece is behind Diablo. Hydra (spell) also came from the ancient monster of our mythology. It still doesnt mean much. I'm not saying they didnt take stuff from greek mythology (and other mythologies - as i mentioned the whole act 2 was Egypt and act 3 was a jungle), i'm just saying there's not a connection with it and the Diablo storyline. Trying to prove me wrong you stopped thinking and quoted stuff you didnt quite understand. You didnt really understand why i was so negative about it in the first place.
amen!

Congratulations, you fail at thinking.

we're completely clueless
