Audhumla Would be another good choice. Ok so it's actually the name of a Cow but it sounds cool.
Medulla, and prior discussions of viking/norse/icelandic names led me to think of Audhumla

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Just a note, there was a big stink when WoW first opened. Several pvp guilds in beta and from UO made public what server they were going to go to. So, someone got there first and took all their names. I know some people who had the same thing happen by a person that disliked them in DAoC. One name, maybe, but the whole list? That's a griefer.
That will happen either way, list or no list. I continuously find names i wish to use have already been taken.
This thread also speaks of conventions, and ideas of how to go about naming characters, while I provided several I am sure there are many others people use. Feel free to list them.
Such as alternative spellings of animal names.
Wolf becomes Wulf
Lion becomes Leon

Bjork is actually a pretty cool name. However due to well Bjork the singer, the name has lost much of, if not all of it's coolness.

btw, some of ur examples sound like icelandic type of words.
That is true. Largely in part due to their sheer brilliance. Bjorn (pronounce Byorn) is vastly superior in my eyes to xXxkillsyouxXx or anything that includes the word, or any variation of the word "noob".

Yes they are, and I thank you for your complement, but unfortunately, like so many other things around here, my work and services are greatly under appreciated, or go largely unnoticed. Also the Diablo series' current naming restrictions actually limited many of them.
You cannot use SPACE or ' and also there is a 15 character limit. So that hinders many of the names and ideas for names that I suggested. Hopefully some of these restrictions are removed or altered in D3, and any and all further Diablo titles.

Incubi seduce woman in their sleep. Succubi seduce men in their sleep. That is how they were originally described.
No bi-sexual stuff there. one is male and seduces females. One is female and seduces males.
Like most (but not all) objects or creatures who's name ends in 'us' such as cactus or Octopus, the plural ends in 'i' cacti or Octopi.
Similarily for;
a Succubus and two or more Succubi
an Incubus and two or more Incubi.
Succubuses is not a word.

Hey! As someone who suffers from that very sexy learning disability, I find that offensive.

They are related to Elfen Lied's post about character naming.
That is generally the purpose of that thread. I am sick of those annoying names like SexyHotPantsSin.
I can't stand that crap. So I figured I would try give people a hand with naimng characters something a little for befitting of the series.
Man I came up with a good one. I'll be sure to post what it is, once I have the character named.
Be sure that you do. Although now this thread is somewaht encroaching on the territoy of my thread's other function. Reservation. You can (hopefully) reserve character names in that thread too. Which is largely what is going on here.

Maybe you should go with Kensai or Kensei then. But Kenzai is pretty original.

So trying to incorporate as much of your guide as possible. I shall be called
lord assassin paul'maak the insane diabloslayer
i think that might be too many characters, lol
Also (i just found out) x'x is not allowed, you cant use the ' character. stink, cause you can get bad ass names using it, esp if you familiar with the warcraft games.

i may be wrong, but i'm pritty sure i'm not, "F" at the end of gandalf, isnt pronounced like a v, it's pronounced as an f, isnt it?
your wrong
direct quote from the appendix section of Lord of The Rings, under the pronounciation section
F: represents f except at the ends of words, where it is used to represent the sound of v (as in English of) : Nindalf, Fladrif.

It's a name for a character in a game! Professionalism is usually absent in most people's mind's. I see names like fkjsgivfg and NOoBPoOPy all the time.
exactly i cant stand that stuff. id rather take a name from a character i na game like Hrothgar (from Icewind Dale) than call my character ILIKECHEESYTACOS or something like that.

As far as Elfen is concerned, it is nice to have another anime liking person around.
its so so much you like anime, which i think is great, but that your willing to put a bit more thought into your character's name, which i truly admire.

Not sure how naming restrictions will work. 15 characters and no spaces like in Diablo II? 18 characters including spaces like in Baldur's Gate II?
But I will probably going to employ some of these ideas for naming my character/s
