look into d1 then. its a very well made game, esp for '96. it was the best thing on the market in just about every possible way, story, graphics, gameplay, multiplayer.

i was about to say that or something similar, WOW looks cartoony and while the detail is pretty good, i still prefer the less technologically adavance games of old, like good old D1, LOD and BGII see opening post on page 1 for screenshots.

mainly because alot of people care about quality of graphics more today than they did before.
sadly yes
BGII and LOD are two of the best games ive ever played, and by today's standards, their graphics are considered poor. (course at the time they were state of the art). point is they games seemed to have an emphasis more on story than graphics, seems like today's games have done a 180, awesome graphics now outweighs story.

kinda hard to be like GOW and/or TQ yet remain similar to LOD innit?
im not to big on games having absolutely amazing graphics if it means dimishing other aspects of the game, length, story, characters, replayability.
Fable has great graphics but its sooo short. LOD and BGII have well average graphics by today's standards but the length of the games are huge.

with the exception of DII graphics of course, and with getting too graphically taxing, im quite fond of BGII myself. good old fashion mid 90's graphics, back when games concerntrated on story and character. before everyone just started pumping out games with insanely amazing graphics. not that i dont mind those games, GOW was awesome, but i like the story and the characters found therein, yep im a tabletop DND nerd.

This is especially considering that we'er assuming D3 has been in development for a while just like SC2. And just like SC2, if that is the case then the graphics cannot be comparable to the best in the market. Too many years of development and you are bound to fall behind.
yes, you begin making something and by the time its released graphics have surpassed it. so you concertrate on other importtant area like character and story, aspects the diablo series does exceptionally well

I was just meaning the basic hack and slash nature of the god of war graphics/point of view. As far as Leap and things are concerned, all of that would be on the scripting portion of the game as opposed to the graphical part to change it from a console/controller game to a point/click mouse game.
thats kinda what i was talking about too. with GOW you could do a lot of things that you couldnt in Diablo, camera angles, and the way the game looks is fine for a Hack and slash game, but it was some of the movements in GOW that you just cant do, swim, climb, these things arent all that needed in a hack and slash game of diablo's nature seeing as how its on a linear plain.
but yes the graphics of GOW would be great. but i think i might miss the isometirc view too much, id still buy it and play it of course.
where are you from? (Country)
again who are you talking to? BoomerSoonerOU? because what he is saying is nothing a gamer wouldnt know.

Hello Are you admin or somebody from blizzard? I can think you are from one of them
who? me? if so then the answer is no.
God of War would be my choice. Some of the landscape rendering would have to be toned down a bit since classicly we can't jump, swim, or climb (assuming it isn't added in diablo 3 which would be pretty cool imo). Other than that it has good camera angles and a nice overhead view that can be brought in and out depending on the player.
if D3 was to use the graphics engine of God of War, i dont think it would use the same mechanics, i.e climbing, swimming jumping etc. then only way jumping would work is if it was the same way it was i D2/LOD i.e a skill like Leap or Leap Attack, other than that i dont see it happening.

no the First one and the first warcraft....... because if its so... then truly Wc3 copied HOMM V
as best as i can figure it, it was
HOMM I (1995)
HOMM II (1996)
HOMM III (1999)
HOMM IV (2002)
HOMM V (2006)
and
WC (1994)
WCII (1995)
WCIII (2002)

That Heroes of Might and Magic V looks an awful lot like Warcraft 3.
they are somewhat similar, but HOMM V isnt like that the whole time, thats just how you move from battle to battle.
Diablo has always seemed to have the superior graphics to the other games, so I'm hoping that that stays true
yes the diablo series is amazing when it comes to graphics at the time of their release. its pretty much the best of the times.
