Next: I don't care how much ANY of you think that it is the programmers that make the game what it is, but those who, "worked" on Diablo 2 did nothing but enter code, there is only three places a game comes from.
1st: The designers, these are the guys that come up with the ideas. If Blizzard has decided not to keep any of these brains around, it would be for a good reason.
These are not just some "programmers".
According to a Reuters report, four key figures at Blizzard North have "resigned from the company to pursue other opportunities." Blizzard Entertainment told Reuters that the Blizzard North cofounders Erich Schaefer, Max Schaefer, and David Brevik, plus Blizzard vice president Bill Roper, recently left the company. The report also quotes a VU Games executive as saying that Vivendi Universal's public efforts to sell its game division, including Blizzard, has had some effect on employee morale. Brevik and the Schaefer brothers founded a development company called Condor in 1993, and started developing Diablo for Blizzard in early 1995. The studio was renamed Blizzard North when Blizzard acquired Condor in February 1996.
Now, next on the agenda. For those of you who think Blizzard is anything besides the best computer game company out there and think them anything less then generous, think again.
As a few people have stated, Battle.net is nothing but free gaming. It beats the crap out of gamespy and everyone should be VERY greatful for that.
Every single game Blizzard has brought us so far has been worth more then it's weight in gold. Warcraft 1, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 2: Tides of darkness, Diablo, Starcraft, Starcraft: Brood Wars, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Battleground.
Battlegrounds is a patch.
There is no other company out there that has made no mistake thus far, Blizzard comes bloody close.
Blizzards biggest mistake was not listening to their fans. Did the fans ask for WoW? NO. Did the fans ask for Sc: Ghost? NO. Did we ask for Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 HELL YES we've been begging for it.
Blizzard is VERY generous with their fans. As admin said, they are absolutely excellent when it comes to tech support and like admin said again, they have great fansite kits they pass out for us. I hardly see that as them not caring about us.
Omg you can't be serious? Have you ever tried their tech support? Its horrible. If you email them 4 days later you will get a automated response. Wait in their support channel for hours to find out they can't help you.
Another thing is I have seen cheating on Battle.net at a max of once in my life. Those of you who play "closed", that is your fault. If you play open battlenet, it IS impossible to cheat these days, for if you are found cheating, you can wave bye bye.
You switched those two around lol. Its suppose to be the other way. Open = hacking, closed = less hacking. Anyway thats not true. Maphack and botting is still being used by thousands of players and diablo 2 sites are selling thousands of hacked items. If you are caught botting or using map hack the most they'll do is ban you cd key which is notting because there so easy to get. But most of the time they dont even do that. All they do is delete your account.
Blizzard only charges for World of Warcraft because that is constantly being updated, they have guys working twenty-four/seven on their servers.
Guild Wars has free online play via Area.net and it offers constant updates as well.
Blizzard is not the same company it used to be. It does't care about their fans at all it just sees you as $$ in their piggy bank.
I never liked blizzard. I liked Blizzard North but not Blizzard. But now their almost the same.
Well, I wouldn't say blizzard doesnt give a damn about their fans, they are one of the best when its comes to support the community, like fansite programs and what not.
It actually gets me kinda mad to hear this, look at battle.net, one of the best game networks in the world, and 100% free...
I kind agree with him in a way. Blizzard does't give a rats ass about their fans. If diablo 3 does come out it will most likely charge for its online play. Most of the guys from Blizzard North left anyway. Those are the guys who made the diablo/starcraft series.
Blizzard has changed .
