First, each of those extra beams do whatever rune you are equipped with. But, no I'm saying I think you should use your 5 pieces of rolands and a RoRG and run the shield bash build with that weapon. If you don't have a RoRG then join some pug bounty games and farm act 1 caches for it.
You can even use that spark, just re-roll a socket into it.
Well, I've already rolled off something for 10% damage, which means I'd have to apply a gift, which you recommended I not do.
If I had 5-10 gifts I wouldn't hesitate to use one, but this is only the 3rd once I've ever found, so I really only want to use them on a great weapon.
So roll the 10% back to a socket. It will still be better than than your FotF because 1. It will still have 200 something DPS higher and 2. It's ancient(so has a lot more Str and it even has LoH, something you'll need in higher rifts. Rolling back to a socket, it's barely worse than my Warmonger and I can do upper 40's.
If you have a RoRG go ahead and use it until you get your 6th piece of Roalnd's, you'll be clearing 40's in no time.
Thanks. Roland's is actually the direction I want to go. So far I have 5 pieces of Rolands, but only 2 or 3 are ancient. I also have the Drakon's bracer, too.
Never seen a Furnace drop and had only 1 or 2 non-ancient Blood Brother's drop. Getting a decent weapon is proving to be the hardest thing.
Well it's not required to have a furnace or BB, they are just BiS. You can even use that spark, just re-roll a socket into it. I'm currently using a Warmonger that isn't that great while I look for something better and I can clear a 47.
you can craft piro manella shield, use blood brother , if u have cinder coat you can use that to spam shield bash , with that setup you can run GR 40 with no problem since ou have drakon bracers , do multiple runs to get gear you need, then you can decide you wanna go , cinder + rrog , or go glassy with focus and restrain , search for builds on this site , there are plenty than can help you to decide what do you wanna play
I wouldn't bother with Cindercoat. The RORG is a terrible ring besides it's leg effect. And Cindercoat doesn't really provide such amazing bonuses that it's worth giving up F+R. Speaking of which I don't feel squishy at at higher Grift's.
Your main problem is that you aren't running any real build. Set's have become the name of the game in diablo these days and if you aren't running one with huge buffs then you are going to suffer with grift progression. Most of the crafted sets aren't useful much beyond T6. Currently the top build for crusader uses Roland's. This is because of the huge buff to Shield Bash and Sweep Attack.
Akkhan's by comparison allows for perma AC with enough CDR, but aside from AC's 35% damage buff doesn't provide anything to boost the damage of any skills. So the old top builds of Condemn, Stampede, and Holy Shotgun just don't compare to what Roland's can do. However, you can still take an Akkhan's build into the 40's with really good gear though several of them require very specific pieces that can be hard to find.
Roland's Bash on the other hand doesn't really require anything but the Piro shield to reduce it's cost and of course the 6P rolands to function. Optimally you'll also want a Furnace or Blood Brother and a Drakon's Lesson bracers to progress into the upper grifts but you'll certainly get past where you are now.

DO NOT waste a gift a weapon like that.
