Actually, he's not completely wrong though. It is just a ground. What that adapter does is give it a bit of a ground. However, you can just snap off the middle pin and it'll work. It's just not a great idea.
Ohhh... never seen one of those before heh. Seems useful for fitting purposes but not for equipment safety which is what the third pin is for. Im guessing that metallic part on the adapter connects to the ground pin. Im also guessing your supposed to ground that manually otherwise having that touching plastic might as well just leave it hanging in the air.
The EU-US converter im guessing (im using that word too much) has a grounding pin itself. So anything behind it should be safe if so. Id be wary of grounding manually the recharger pin behind a coverter.
The other posters PS3 is in danger if hes actually using that on a wall outlet. Not huge danger but a bad lightning strike and gg.
Um the 3rd US 'pin' on the plug is just a ground. You can plug it in without it but if theres a surge or something your equipment is at higher risk.
Theres no such thing as a 3plug to 2 plug converter. If theres no ground theres no ground.
If its a matter of shape get a cheap extension cord, you can tend to let the ground hang in the air with one of those, maybe chopping a bit of the plastic off :B
