I've got a good question for you - Who the hell is Abd Al-Hazir? He's the guy who's writing all the Diablo III.com lore in an entry format
Has he been mentioned before and where? Because his name sounds familiar but I cant find it at all
I don't remember having heard his name anywhere, but my guess is that he came from that new city caldeum
Here's the informations we got from D3 website
Abd al-Hazir is a renowned gentleman, historian, and scholar. He has recently taken up the unprecedented task of investigating, researching, and compiling information about the unique locales and denizens of our world.
Also he was apparently killed or abducted by those cultists guys so he may be part of a future quest in D3
Since returning home, I have been feverishly researching those demon-enthralled cultists in an effort to ease my mind, to assure myself that I had not actually seen what I had, but every whispered, frightened tale only deepens the chill that has seized me. I do not know which of my actions alerted them, but my worst fears have been realized. I have been marked. This is the last known writing of Abd al-Hazir. Known for his compilation of weird and wonderful facts about our unique world, he has unfortunately been missing since late last year.
Finally take note that from his indepth analysis of skeletons that he discovered that they found it hilarious to hide in barrels for centuries waiting for their next victim.
I am at a loss to explain the average skeleton's somewhat ludicrous mental predisposition, however. Perhaps the implausibility of its own existence makes the skeleton think it hilarious to hide in a barrel, cackling intermittently for some three hundred years until a victim happens by?
really? i always felt that it was the brothers getting screwed over lol. but, considering my previous theory that is displayed in most all of the books that humans know very little about what is actually going on and just have pieces of the puzzle. And the whole "prime evils defeated 1/3 of the legions of hell before succumbing" could just be myth and the prime evils weren't defeated but rather intended for it to happen. i understand
Go talk to Izual, you'll understand everything...

Although following your reasoning, Baal would probably be mightier than his brothers in single combat, which I find hard to believe, seeing as Diablo is always held as the strongest of the Three in terms of raw power.
I'm not saying that Baal is stronger, just that he is less smart. Mephisto seems to be the head of the Three while Diablo is more like a serpent ready to backstab you when you least expect it. On the other, I suppose that Baal could still control a stronger army of demons than his brothers (think about act 5).
This is not going to answer your question, but in the Sin War Lucion has a servant named Gulag who is a favored pet of Baal. Gulag, is depicted as a demon of inferior intelligence who rely mostly on raw strength to achieve his ends.
Since he is the Lord of Destruction, I think Baal is probably the less intelligent of the Three and thus has less influence on their ultimate plan, so that's probably why we didn't hear too much about him so far.
Heres a question. Can someone give me a HISTORY of baal? Like..besides the information provided in the game where baal was imprisoned by Tal Rasha in Lut Golen or however it's spelled what was baal up to before that? If you could give a history as far back as possible that would be cool
If you want to know more about Baal, look at p.106 in the D2 game manual. I'm not going to rewrite it for you, so you better find a virtual version if you don't have the manual.
To make it short, it says that Baal seemed to have been heading toward the north of Luth Gholein (to Mt. Arreat perhaps???). Tal Rasha and his companions hunted him down in the desert and eventually killed him. Unfortunately for them, Baal destroyed the Soulstone during the battle. As a last resort, Tal Rasha took the biggest shard left and combined it with his own body to imprisoned Baal.
Tyrael then imprisoned Tal Rasha in one tomb amongst seven others in the desert (apparently those hasn't been made by the Horadrims) and left him there to fight with Baal forever.

No, Mephisto's Soulstone was kept safe in the Guardian Tower in the Travincal. Lazarus was from there originally (as part of the Zakarum), but he seemed fine up until arriving at Tristram.
It seems that the D2 manual has another view on this:

p.105
That would explain why Diablo didn't posess Lazarus and why Lazarus came to Tristram in the first place, because he was already controlled by Mephisto.
Maybe it's not the Hell Forge that matters in destroying the soulstone, but only the fact that you were in Hell, so that you don't release the spirit contain within the mortal world.
Seeing as the Prime Evils has planned their Dark Exile for along, it seems to me that they intented to use the soulstones to gain the powers of their target and perhaps in time even the power of the Nephalem. I'm pretty sure that the destruction of the Worldstone has been planned from the beginning by them.
Also, wasn't Lazarus the one possessing Mephisto's Soulstone, I always thought it was the reason why he became mad in the first place.
First off, Cholik is dead so I'll assume that you are speaking of Darrick.
Second, Diablo 3 will probably (as the title let it suppose) be centered on Diablo.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to revisit Bramwell and kick the ass of Kabraxis, but I think we're going to do a lot of other stuff in D3 before it comes to that. I think that I'll expect Astrogha to be in D3 more than Kabraxis, just because we've seen him more often in the novels.
If you're not happy this, feel free to make a mod once D3 is released.
I would imagine Diablo could sense his brother to the point of not needing to know the actual tomb symbol. What I'd like to know is why he was able to just open some doors while the player actually has to use a staff that tears a hole in the wall to get to the tomb itself.
I believe it was Cain who said that Tal Rasha's chamber was hidden from mortals eyes. It could have been just an illusion, like the orifice room must have been a fake room just like that spell in Kingdom of Shadows where Zayl arrives in some chamber where's there's a ritual happening but he finds it empty (gee it's been ages since I read that book). The hole could have always been there, but you couldn't see it or even get through it.
Diablo didn't need to break the spell because he's a prime evil, so it probably didn't affect him at all.

What is the Heiarchy(sp?) of Demons, and where do creatures like Lilith fit in?
Lilith is Mephisto's daughter so I guess she should be pretty high in the Demons hierarchy, but right now she's imprisonned in Inarius's void dimension so she's kind of forgotten by all.
This is mostly all we know about the Worldstone. It doesn't explain what would happen if it didn't exist though. The Worldstone is tricky, because it can be used to dampen the Nephalem's powers, but it can also be used to amplify their powers. Inarius altered the Worldstone so it would dampen the Nephalem's powers because they were too powerful.
I don't know you, but to me it seems logical that without the Worldstone humanity will be able to regain their original birthright trough the same processus of awareness that Lilith first used on Uldyssian and that he used on others. It's true that the Worldstone can enhance the powers of the Nephalem, but seriously Nephalems like Rathma or Bul Kathos don't know anything about the true extent of their powers. Just look at Uldyssian at the end of Book 3, he literally became one with Sanctuary, he even almost destroyed it with only his unconscious feelings. His powers were so great that they dwarfed even those of the Worldstone, so in the end it's might not be such a big lost.
2nd. didnt the world stone give the nephelem there power supposedly. with it shattered. whats to happen? (this is where like elfen said is an open door)
The Worldstone isn't the Nephalem's source of power, that's the main reason why Uldyssian was able to modify it where Inarius couldn't. With the Worldstone destroyed it is likely that humans will be able to unlock their true powers and become Nephalem again.
Remember that during this time Tristram became the center of attention of all sorts of wannabe heroes who were looking for gold and glory. I think that Adria might have just settle in Tristram only to sell potions and books and make a quick piece of gold, and she must have move away after Diablo's death to go sell her stuff elsewhere which explain why we didn't find her body in D2.
