I was aiming for the dragonfly but it was pure luck that shot was in focus. I had the camera in high-speed drive mode, with AI servomotor (center focused with 9 point expanded focus assist) using a 50mm lens. It was hell keeping that thing in my sight, the only reason I got the shot was the dragonfly kept flying in the same basic area for about 30 minutes giving me a lot of chances LOL!
That's funny (painfully so)! I learned a painful lesson today as well.Even when your camera is setup for fast action photography, dragonfly's are a royal pain in the ass to capture in mid-flight. 160 photo's, 1 good shot. That and I got sun burned trying get this picture because I live in the damn desert
It was good, also if you haven't seen Captain America Winter Soldier, see that too, it was much better than the last one. It fills in the hole on who shot JFK in X-Men relating to Magneto.
I looked up and thought, Wow! That's an intense sunset! Not exactly a great vantage point for the photo, but this would have been gone had I tried to get somewhere to take the perfect shot.
Went to tour a new office the company I work at is building out and brought the camera, managed to get a few that I could have some fun with in post production.
@Nacho - Work thingy:lol:, yeah at times it feels like a thingy. Sometimes old stuff is better than new stuff, glad hear you are still going strong. Some day I want to take a trip south of the equator or even just get to the equator, I have not traveled abroad nearly enough.
@Ducha - Very good, when do you graduate? Sorry to hear the place you are at is ending, I've been in that situation too many times, I feel your pain. Sounds like social life is pretty good though.
@Jamoose - Good to see you as well! Hope things have been good for you over these last few years. I'll be on here a little more often now.
@All: - I recently took the family on the new High Roller Ferris Wheel on the strip, from what they advertise it's currently the worlds tallest at550 feet, 28 cabins in all each cabin is 44,000 lbs and can hold 40 people for a max capacity of 1120 people, it's 30 minutes for it to go around fully. I bought the express pass to bypass the line, never in my wildest dreams though did I think I would get an entire cabin for just my family :Thumbs Up:Here is a 360 view video I created while at the top, you can here my wife singing in the background (she likes doing that).
I definitely feel better, mistake I made was to stop exercising in my early 30's when work seemed more important. I may get it, I don't want to get too consumed though since I need to get a business off the ground so I'll be setting some limits on myself. How I wish I could be just relaxing and doing what I want these days. How are things where your are at?
Good see you both Ducha and Nacho, the short of it I've been busy toiling me work, lost 35 lbs, and have taken a shitload of pictures in my spare time LOL! I'm done being bummed at D3, haven't gotten RoS yet, waiting for reviews. I'm glad to have fulfilled a prophesy! What's new with you both?!
Ice pillars at Citycenter on the Strip

Now it's time to go relax in the spa and wind down this Sunday proper.
