Yes you can if you know how and where, someone said that before and the author posted the link with revealed comments. Petition result ain't gonna convince Blizz, but the media attention it gets on many gaming sites will.
You mean like all the negative things that Kotaku, RockPaperShotgun, VE3D and Shacknews had to say about how the petition's creators are nothing but ungrateful and spiteful fans who can't be pleased, among other worse comments made?
Even those commenting within the news on those aforementioned websites rallied in support of Blizzard and its current art direction for Diablo 3.
If Blizzard does indeed listen to media feedback, those opinions are certainly going to hold more weight than a silly petition wanting the direct opposite.
In the Diablo fan community there are two distinct and but not equally important groups. The Loyalists who want to keep Diablo 3 vibrant and lively and the Dissidents who want Diablo 3 to look like Clive Barker's Jericho by using bots in their petition. These are their stories.
Yeah, use the new one instead of the one-liner. It's actually got a pretty long and reasonable argument, if I do say so myself. Don't link to my site if you don't want to do it, but I do personally believe that the petition I created is better able to represent the "pro-D3" faction due to the arguments put forth. It's also got double the amount of signatures.
The problem with throwing in 'realistic' textures into an isometric game is that the whole thing ends up looking like Sacred 2 and Gothic 3: a pile of crap with 'realistic' textures tagged on. There's no artistic touch.
If Blizzard wanted to make a picture by taking photos of things instead of hiring artists, they could've bought a digital camera, but that's not what they want to do, so it's not going to happen.
On the one hand you have this huge petition that's currently going on to 'add more colour' into games like Gears of War, of which Epic is listening to by adding vibrancy to Gears of War 2. And on the other hand you've got some Diablo fans who want the game to look entirely like the Durance in Act 3.
I wouldn't play Diablo 2 if it all looked like that, and I certainly wouldn't want to play Diablo 3 if it did.
This post is useless without a picture, therefore:
