I just took this, real quick-like, from the CD-ROM.
I need to dig a little more for the other versions. One of the green ones from the HotB quest would look cool...
Edit: It helps if you load the correct palette in the first place... (still looking for a green one).
EDIT #3: Figured out how to change their color:
Atru -- As long as I'm in here, I'll see if I can scrounge up a teleporting mage.
I would like to see the other animated files too. The one I want to see the most, however, is Lilith (aka the black version of Andariel).
The process is even more convoluted when extracting the character animations from the D2 CD-ROM. That werebear gif I used to have in my sig was one of the easy ones, and it was still a pain to track-down and isolate the frames I wanted.
The animations for most of the other characters are broken down into body parts (arms, legs, torso, head, etc.), with scads of possible permutations dependent on the armor and weapons, multiple color-pallets (Lilith and Andariel are good examples of that)...
There aren't many to be found with an online search, so resigned myself to taking them from the CD-ROM, as I did with my avatar and signature.
It's not a straight-forward process (i.e., each character, and all of its actions, is shown from eight different angles -- you have to isolate the frames for the action and angle you want; the Diablo logo file is not animated on the CD -- it's a single static image (a .pcx file) of all 15 frames. I had to crop each frame from the image, then I reassembled them into an animated gif using PaintShopPro Animation Workshop), so it's time-consuming. At least, for me it is.
I haven't had the energy to sit through the process, again, since I made my av and sig.

Edit #2: Viola!
A few more...
