-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
It's really cool seeing the forums, which is basically just words, displayed as a real place in an imaginative and realistic (Fictionally realistic. Yes, I know, that's an oxymoron, but you guys get my point ) way.
A bunch of us do Role Play here. So the concept is not a stretch. And many of us enjoy cartography (making maps), so any combination of the two is just gravy.
Also it is fun to see how the world views you, as opposed to how you see yourself. This is something I am really looking forward to seeing come across in the comics. How Atrumentis copies over our personality, quirks, and traits.
Would be fun to read the comments on the comic and see "Dude you totally nailed me! That was sooo me."

Gods I wanna tell you all all about it. Just trust me and Zubin when we say it looks AWSOME.
Indeed, as the one I guess who you could say owns the rights to SICK and any and all related projects, I have to agree. A very awesome picture.
I love towns like that, I so want to live in one.

That was a reference to the ruling body of SICK. Which seem to be the ruling body of the town.
It is also a nod to the fact many a mod here are persons of the people, for the people, by the people.

I think the actual comic and associated picture/s need to be in a seperate thread, and the discussion of said comic take place in this one, It’s gonna suck going through 200 pages to find 5 posts that contain the actual comics.
20 pages in this thread so far and we have 1 map and episode 1. Hardly seems right. I can always lock it like I did with the novel thread, and just update it as the new episodes roll out.
Awesome map. And err.. Forest has 1 r in it, not two. And could you blown it up maybe by 50%, the wording on “tavern” is hard to make out. I could have sworn the town was more a of a Delta hub type thing. You have to pass through it to go East, West, South or North. Being located at a cross roads, enables us to impose tolls. Thus the cities economy stays strong, especially if the town is located along a major highway, say the main one leading North to Sessheron. Also if you could throw in a few more churches and/or temples. I did have one idea for perhaps the main church or temple, if you take the Notre Dame cathedral, and “chop” it in half, “clone” the Bell towers end, and stick them the two ends together back-2-back so you have 2 towers at each end, for a total of 4. That might make a very impressive looking cathedral for worship. One I would definitely go to were it real. The interior of course would be filled with murals and mosaics. The official name of Darkjay’s tavern is the new Tavern of the Rising Sun. He bought the rights to the name “Tavern of the Rising Sun” from Ogden, who owned the first one. Well not really bought as Ogden is assumed dead, so he merely took the name upon his death to carry on his legacy so to speak.
lol, yeah, the Tavern on the map I imagined to be the size of the Tavern in Tristram, which also has two floors.
A little larger than that but that is workable.
I'm gonna have to re-do this map, aren't I? The proportions all seem wrong.
Maybe I could just make the Town Square smaller?
Eventually yes, I imagine you will have to add in other buildings of interest. More libraries and archives, public forums, “senate” buildings, guild houses, barracks’, possibly other taverns, workshops possible artistic ones to emulate the sig shops, etc. Generally speaking, a town or city is divided into districts or sometimes they are called Prefectures. Most notable are your Temple District (Full of Churches and Temple), your Government District (Full of Senate or Council buildings), your slum district (poor people), your “Patrician” district (rich people), your docks district, and depending on the city, what is known as the “old” district, usually what the town once was, such as London’s Inner or Old City. Here is an old concept for the Citadel. Or at least it gives a possible look for the wall and fortifications of the city.

Where are the SICK lounge, court etc etc though?
Why's it gotta be based on a clan? I thought it was based on the forums. o.O
It is forum based. But as the guild is present on the forums it makes sense for it to be present in the comic too. Certain threads, most notably the tavern should definitely make appearances. One or two Guild related threads could also be present, such as the Lounge or Discussion court, though I imagine their comic versions might have different names.
SICK is a religious guild, and at these times church and state are the same thing. ANd also given the nature of SICK, they are surely one to run a town (and protect it with their citadel and future city walls). But you don't have to actually join it. ITs just the nature of the guild. THey are kind of like the Zakarum.
That is correct. A religious Order, though not all residents of the town are members, just like not everyone at the forums here is a member. Long story short, comic is forum based, but as SICK is based in/on this forum, expect SICK to make an appearance in some form or another. But the comic IS NOT limited to SICK. Heck the guy making these comics isn't even in SICK (yet).

Looks are as much a part of the character as personality in a comic, I feel.

Thats how I learned that admins can change your signature
Yes we can, I added that bolded phrase in, as it went very well with the original passage in your sig of which I spoke.
And to continue where I left off discussing the Slayer. It is a transformation, much like with the Druid and his WereWolf/WereBear forms. Thus your human form would be like that of the base guitarist for Dethklok, while your Slayer form, could be the four armed demon that you spoke of.

It's a really old inside joke between Murderface and myself. It orignally started with a phrase he had in his sig that mentioned the face of murder. It also mentioned the word "lord" at one point.
In Dungeons and Dragons. Bhaal is the Lord of Murder. In the Baldur's Gate series on PC, your character is the child of Bhaal.
"The Lord of Murder shall perish. But in his doom he shall spawn a score of mortal progeny. Chaos will be sown from their passage." So sayeth the wise Alaundo
That does not dispporve the possiblity that he looks like this;
It simply expands on his biography.

Not to mention the son of Bhaal. The dead Lord of Murder and Assassins. You killed your half brother Sarevok and saved the city of Baldur's Gate.
Then were captured by a evil mage who stole your soul. The absence of your soul left you more exposed to the taint of your father which eventually manifested itself as the Slayer. A being born of Murder. It is incredibly single minded, it will kill, maim, mangle, anything in it's path.

yeah, sorry elfen, but don't worry, now that I know how to make a comic, I can focus on the storyline and characters much easier lol. But I figured you seem to be a kind of leader, so at the least you should be the first one to talk to the new-comer (even though you weren't the first one in the thread it was based on).
Yes, well do not skimp on my personality traits, I speak of my vast encyclopedic knowledge of demons (Specifically the undead), my quoting of games, movies and television, my love of religious phrases, many of which have been spewed forth in various SICK related threads, my love of, often for no reason other than shits and giggles to "epic" things up, so that the God's themselves might envy them!!! and least I forget, my delusions of eloquence. I guess with my delusions of eloquence, I am like Ormus and his riddles, in that, to quote Alkor, I do it to cover up the fact I have nothing intelligent to say.
And he aslo gave us a new name for our town.
Deeha' blothri, lol.
Indeed. And as a further note, it is located in Sanctuary (The Diablo world), or at least some part of it is (a major part of it is in cyber space. i.e this website), the town was mentioned in SICK literature, though no offical name was given.

I wanna know what Requiem, Elfen Lied, LinkX Stonebreaker and Winston think of their characters.
Aesthetically very pleasing. But I felt I didn't have nearly as much dialog as I should, nor did many of my mannerisms make appearances. But I won't lie, I did enjoy the overall presentation of my character.
