So i'm not some sexiest dude who overloads his works with babes in provoctively/scantily dressed outfits, if that!, in an effort to attract a huge horny teenager following, like it would seem the majority of comics and games creators do, (DOA anybody?) even though I have borrowed images of their characters. Also It's not all males who are in this thing, I should be fair to all.
Thanks to Stormcat for putting up with all us guys, you rock.

Sexiest "non player characters" for sure. I try add some more "non playable characters" to each thread as the stories continue, there will be some babes, and probably the odd few hot guys too, but that's a bit harder for me to do as, well I'm a guy, so I don't really think about whether a guy is hot or not, esp. in regards to art, I just look at the picture and think, hmm yeh cool pic, BGII portrait worthy or not? generally speaking, most of the "portraits" i have and will use in the threads stream from either an offical Baldur's Gate seriesportrait or one that has been modified for use in said game/s.

Just thought I would say it again, much like sides quests, feel free to let me know if you would like to wield an item from any of the games at some point during this "game". You don't fight Diablo with the same sells for 1 gp crapsicle weapon you start the game with, so why not here as well?
Just don't uber it up too much like the Sword of A Thousand Truths or something.
Just hit me up with a PM/IM/email
Item: Type: World: Acquisition:
Examples
Item: Megaton Hammer Type: Hammer World: Hyrule Acquisition: Found in a large chest in the fire temple
Item: Harlequin Crest Type: Helmet World: Diablo Acquisition: Given as a reward for return Ogden's sign to him.
Seeing as how statistics, resistances and armor class are exactly mentioned, you do not have to give the properties of any item you wish to wield at some point, but as this is a story not the code for a game, you would describe the properties as best you can (if you can't, just list them and I will try). For example, Sword of the Flame instead of saying adds 24 fire damage, you could say it burns with such intense heat it quarterises flesh as it tears through it.

Like I said before, any of you can use any of the characters of mine I put in the Characters thread, Sir Elric, Sir Karl, Wulfgar, etc. That is so long as you do not do anything out of character for that person, such as not posting in a german accent while using Sir Karl or Heinrich for example.
Within these threads there are essentually two types of NPCs;
-Type 1 NPC (Non Player Chracter)
The first type of NPC is the Non Player Character, that is, not you. (you character is a PC, Player Character). These are my regular characters, the ones I use the most. They, much like the NPCs found in Baldur's Gate, can be "controlled" by you. You can have them do stuff, but they also have a mind and a personality of their own (i.e me having them do stuff). They will do pretty much whatever your character is doing at that point in time if they are near you, Fighting, drinking, sleeping, eating etc. You can talk to these characters and supply their replies if you like, so long as it isn't out of character. ANd by now you should have a fairly good idea of what their personalitles are like. Though I will try expand on some of the less frequently used/newer characters.
-Type 2 NPC (Non playable Character)
The second type of NPC, are more like you quest assigning, store keep, randomly walking around town, barely says two words to you type NPCs, such as Deckard Cain or Gillian for example. That is to say they will converse with your characters, and may fight along side you, like the mercenaries in Diablo II. but you cannot yourself, tell them to go attack that big demon over there. (That's my job). You can converse with these NPCs, and I'll try reply in a timely fashion, I do work rather long/odd hours, plus often someone will reply before I do.
Hope that helps.
Any character i make an entry for in the Characters thread, you are free to use, If the character is not in that thread, such as Garren Windspear or Helfdain, you cannot use them without my permission.
A small portion of game mechanics applies here, you can't make an NPC do something in the game, so you can't do it here. such as you can't tell deckard cain to cast some bad ass Horadrim spells and start killing demons, even though he should really be able to.

Iam now, as you can clearly see from the Amn and Azshara threads, not so much the Hyrule thread as yet, in the process of working in several side quests into our story/s.
Generally speaking, they will be somewhat copied/modified versions of quests found in the games of which the world in which the story is based. I.e Diablo, DIablo II, Warcraft I, II, III, World of Warcraft Ocarina of Time, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate II. But most likely, Baldur's Gate II, which works out rather nicely, as it is new to most of you.
If you know of a quest say from World of Warcraft or even Diablo, that you would like us, or some of us to undertake, send me the details in either a PM, IM or email, and we will see if we can work it in. Of course if it is a Diablo quest I shant be needing the details, I will only need to confur with you as to how best to work it in.
And please, if you can, try not to suggest side quests that are overly "Fed-EX (go here, get this, bring in there) or Slugfest (Kill x amount of monsters), There can be a small amount of these types of things, but they shouldn't be the over all theme or point of the quest.
While it is not a requirement, If possible I would recommend, submitting any and all dialogue that goes with the quest, that includes initiation dialogues, finishing dialogues, and in the case of Diablo or any of the DnD games, what your character says during the quest. For example The barbarian's comment "Oh I've just about had my fill of the walking dead" upon killing Radament. Often these make things a little more entertaining, esp. if it is like the warrior's comment after he has killed Zhar the Mad "I sorry did I break your concertration" or what he says after he has killed Gharbad the weak "I'm not impressed".

If you choice a Diablo II quest, you do not have to include all the dialog that the other NPCs say, just the one who gives you the quest, well you can include it if you want to, I suppose
Quest:
Game:
Synopsis/summary:
Reward:
Dialog:
Examples
Quest: Arkaine's Valor
Game: Diablo
Synopsis/summary: place a blood stone on a pedestal to open a new room, repeat twice more, move through a hallway light by torches, pick up a suit of armor
Reward: Arkaine's Valor
Dialog:
-"Beyond the gate way of blood and passed the hall of fire, valor awaits for the hero of light to awaken" - Book
-"May the spirit of Arkaine protect me" - Player Character
Quest: Radament the Fallen
Game: Diablo II
Synopsis/summary: move down several levels of sewers and kill a greater mummy by the name of Radament
Reward: Book of skill, cheaper services from storkeeps
Dialog:
-"I don't expect this of you, but if you want to help me, I would be grateful. In the sewers below our city, there lurks a horrid creature that hungers for human flesh. The creature has killed many, including my son and my husband. If you destroy it, I will reward you. Please be careful though, that beast has taken enough from us already. The sewer entrance is through the trap door just up the street." - Atma
-"We live again!" - Radament
- "They say that the taste of vengeance is bittersweet, but I find it to my liking. In addition to my undying gratitude, I have spoken on your behalf with the rest of the townspeople. The merchants have agreed to show their gratitude by offering their wares and services at lower rates. Oh… Jerhyn wants to see you, too. You'll find him in front of the palace." - Atma
It will require modding to make it better suited to the story, so the more information you ca nprovide the better.
And yes, I am fully aware of the amount of dialog present in quests from DnD games, esp. BGII, my god that is a lot of text.

Bah that was but trifle, one only needs to think about one's situation, where are you? what are you doing at that point in time? who is with you? These are things you should be constantly asking yourself if you run out of something to say.
And NO posting for the sake of posting. The least you could do is delight us all with some saucy banter.

As long as you read the previous posts, and have a fairly good understanding of what's happening, it really shouldn't be too hard to think of something to post.
you could always have your character try and have a conversation with another character.
you could reach into your pack and pull out a long pipe and some tobacco and blow some smoke rings (actually i think i might have my necro do that, lol)
you could have your character complain about the fact your not fighting evil and just sitting around "oh look did the grass grow another inch!"
you could unsheath your sword and being a practice session, and practice some killer blows.
you could dream of a place where blind men see, a place with golden streams, or you could just as easily have a flash back to some traumatic event in your characters life, such as the murder of a friend/family member right in front of your eyes.
you could interact more with the enviroment or voice an oppinion of your surroundings, if you are in a forest, why not climb a tree to get a better look at your surroundings or the road ahead, if you are in a city, and your character hates them he or she could say, "Bah the cities changes, but the fools within are always the same" "A dank pool of base corruption if ever there was one, were it not for the order, the gods would surely smite man for such sins."
I hope to begin leaning the threads towards being more epic, bout time some side quests popped up, what is an RPG without side quests? boring. I can't imagine BGII without the 300 or so side quests you can do.

I don't mind too much he decided to switch, though it does make the Amn story that much more overcrowded, but seeing as that is the larger of the locations anyway, it's not a huge deal.
On a side note, I will probably include some characters from games/novels set in these areas. These characters will be not be available to you to play as, unlike the other characters I have made, Thoradin, Wulfgar, Sir Karl, etc. Any character from a game or novel that I may add will more than likely be in a cameo type appearance, and a short one at that or in a quest assigning capacity, much like Drizzt was in BGII, he appeared for only 1 quest in the endgame.
And I will only do it if I feel it is needed or will add to the thread. I won't do it for the sake of doing it. Even though that would be fun, but if it's gonna be like calling two NPCs in WOW Larion and Muigin (obvious references to Mario and Luigi (Drop the 'n' and switch the first letters around)), then there is no point, despite the light heartedness some peoples characters bring, I'd prefer to keep this thing as serious as possible.
Not that I don't mind a bit of tomfoolery every now and again.

No that is correct. prehaps he got my palys mixed up. Both characters are paladins, and both are referred to as Sir.
I got them mixed up at one point. But that was only because I was working on two threads at the same time. With the use of pictures andthe fact that only one of them speaks with an accent it shouldn't be that hard to tell them apart.

That is the theory yes. seems simple enough, but apparently it wasn't. Also, this way (multiple threads) is probably easier to manage.

It wasn't hard. You had a similar thing going on in LOTR, but it seems a few people couldn't keep up, they were with someone the next, then it seems they got lost when the story switched to another skirmish, they when it cut back they got confused and either switch groups, or went of on their own. It made it confusing, small groups in a dedicated thread, will just be easier to manage for me, and easier to understant for some.
