My hope is for a Starcraft MMO. I hope they stay away from Lost Vikings, because they already have the nordic theme down in Ironforge/Dwarves
If it's something completely new, I know it will rock.
Whatever it is, I'm excited!

Ok, first if all, I'm sure just like everyone else, as soon as I saw it I woke my roomates up with screams of joy.
But, If I remember correctly, they called it a "Next-Gen MMO"...what features will consider this an MMO? or did they just say that to throw us off their trail.
no. blizzard doesn't lie. Although i highly doubt that blizz has another game under wraps that would be in far enough progress to announce our even have speculation too it is possible. But i would imagine this is th next gen mmo considering they said the system could support large groups of players.

People assumed a lot of the job postings for Blizzard's "Top Secret Next-Gen MMO" was simply code for the Diablo III project. A key piece of evidence was them citing that in the job description, Blizzard was the developer of "Diablo I and II", mentioning only the Diablo series.
Now that we have found out (to the best of my knowledge) that Diablo 3 is going to remain on Battle.net and that it is an action-RPG, the speculation begins as to what this Next-Gen MMO is going to be. It makes sense that it isn't Diablo - there are TONS of positions available for their secret project and with Diablo 3 having a lot developed already, I doubt they were able to get that much done with so many job positions available. My guess is a Starcraft MMO that will be announced in 2-3 years' time when significant strides have been made in its development and when Blizzard is ready to unleash it. Diablo III's graphics are better but in no-way are they next-gen, and I dont think D3 is an MMO either.
Isn't an MMO like a server/world with hundreds or thousands of people playing in it at the same time? Because if that's the description then Diablo 3 is not an MMO.
A next gen-mmo would be a step forward from WoW. D3, while a great game, would be a step backwords because it's not a seamless world and will still run on Battlenet.
Let's stop being idiots about this, D3 is not Blizzards Next Gen MMO in development.
It won't be a Diablo MMO. Sorry but that's just stupid. Come on, Diablo III on Battle.net and then a few years later World of Sanctuary? Counter-intuitive. Its a Starcraft MMO or something entirely new. And at this point I doubt Blizzard is going to stray away from a winning formula. I'd bet a nice sum that its a Starcraft MMO set for release 4-5 years after SC-2 comes out, and the games will co-exist much as Wc3 and WoW do.
as you see in the job opps page. the jobs needed for diablo 3 are now shown with the diablo 3 logo but there is still a top secret picture next to a few that say MMO

If you think about it, technically, D2 was an mmo.
