A good free website to get reference for drawing is http://www.sxc.hu/ .
If you run out of ideas maybe you just need to go find something to inspire you? I always go to conceptart or cghub when i need some inspiration.
I never realized that people used textures and overlayed them like that. That should help immensely x.x
This is... something I was working on a few months ago when I first started The Veiling:
Never finished it, but I *tried* to do something similar to what you said- using colors not normally associated with the blackness of a shadow, for instance.
great!!! I loved those tips!! it will help me alot too
Sorry for long post and spelling cant seem to go back and correct it cos everytime i add a letter it seem to delete the one infront of it..even while using spacebar D:
try clicking insert ([ins]) button... that enables/disables the overwrite function
About PS... I have CS4 on Windows 7 and for some reason my tablet is always REALLY laggy with it. In Corel it works fine, which is what I'm forced to use, but it doesn't have nearly as many layer functions as PS... any ideas? lol
Corel 4 CAN export in PSD's with all the layers and everything, but I've noticed that they lose quality a bit and transparency isn't aways correct on the edges- sometimes it adds a bit of pixelation and white to the edges. I really wish I could just get it to work with PS nicely, I already know how to use layers and such on a.. decently adequate level. Corel can be clunky at times, although I prefer its mixing palette.
*sigh*
Look at me ramble about the problem when I should be finding a solution
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Um... I've only spent like an hour on it. I have no idea what I'm doing. Help.
I also suck at anatomy.
If you could offer tutorials or advice on the following:
Stone texture, fire lighting effects (does that even make sense?), and everything else you see wrong there, I would appreciate it.
