Alright since NO BODY has said anything about it... what about the possibility of the Edyrem returning as a class? now THAT would be totally and epicly (dunno if that's a word) awesome. A while back I posted this thread in Blizz's suggestion forums about how i thought the Edyrem should be a class, wrote a bunch of info to see what other people though... then the next day, my post was deleted when i went to look at replies. Thought that was prettyyyy interesting imo

I am personally really looking forward to Belial and I am hoping that the 5th class is something like the druid; though I am biased just because he was my favorite character in D2...:rolleyes:

I can't wait to see what lore they come up with and what bosses they try to throw at us this time...

So to get back to the matter at hand I would agree with Calyx and go for the archer type over shapeshifter which is something suitable for expansion packs.

And to krypto911, what is an Edyrem?

Belial better give us an epic battle and not just a D2 standoff hacking away in a giant slugfest.
I want stuff that blows up, ground shaking spells, dodging and running to save our asses from destructive power. And last but not least, I hope they did give End Bosses some sort of graphic representation of their status (health) other than a red bar. Losing a leg, slowing him down, cutting an arm off and changing his attack pattern, or even have him go into frenzy, etc. That would be epic enough.

This discussion CAN exist, thus called speculation. Which most of these forums are based on as you might not be aware. And it's not just because we saw the act 2 merc using polearms that every warrior from that region fights as such. It just means that in D2, the ranged merc position was already taken by act 1 mercs therefore they didn't need to implement it on act 2 mercs. See that's exactly what I was talking about in my last post. That's the kind of boss we used to have in previous Diablo games and most other games for that matter. I want some God of War beatdown action on bosses. And hopefully some good AI to complement them.

Although it might sound to some people, keep in mind Tolkien had used the term long before and made it sound cool. So I don't think it's really that big of a deal.

So it seems we have 2 long range characters(WD & WZ) and 2 short range (Barb & Mk).
Obviously theres a need of a balanced character for (mid range) IMO. Plus, Blizzard has been fusing classes to compensate for other classes. Its been said before, that there needs to be some Bow&Arrow action involved(LEGOLAS STYLE),which i hope to see.

Honestly, id like to see a rogue fused with druid. I picture him/her as a jack of all trades class, kind of like Strider from LOTR but with elemental flav for some @$$kicking would be a nice touch.

Oh! And if its going to be a rogue, perhaps he/she can be related to the first rogue. Id love that

It's not about a returning char as much as it's about filling the need of a ranged character in my opinion. There are too many people who live and breathe ranged combat. Such as myself. Having a bow as extra with a few skills to complement isn't enough. There needs to be endless ranged possibilities and something greater than any previous Amazon or Rogue has ever given us.

I can clearly remember of a bow item dropping in the first gameplay movie(HD) in the Diablo 3 oficial site.

This is for sure a ranged attack class (bows, knifes, blowing potions, rainbows LOL)

How about a samurai? they specialize in swords, bows, and spirituality. all they would need is to create a specialized power for them and there go to go.
