Belial has been confirmed in a recent IGN article!

So could Belial, like some have guessed, been posing as Tyrael to destroy the Worldstone?
Also a 5th class tidbit:
IGN: Have you confirmed how many unrevealed classes there are, to round out the entire party?
Jay Wilson: There's one more.
IGN: You did mention that it's being revealed next year, and that it's someone from the previous games?
Jay Wilson: I did say that. I probably shouldn't have said that, because we're not sure that's going to be the case. It's just logical, that's what we tend to do. But it may or may not. I'm not gonna answer it, anyway? [laughs]
So that's that! One more class to drool over and then lots more questions about Belial and the possibility of him posing as Tyreal! I'm very curious how they'll work that one into D3, sometimes they're subtle hints to things like this, but in this case we'll have to see what the brilliant minds have in store for us!
But what would Azmodan and Belial's bodies be doing under Tristram? I don't think Tristram cathedral was the only place where the Horadrim stored demon lords. Plus, why would they risk having the imprisoned Lord of Terror so close to two Lesser Evils' bodies. I don't know Paladin, I'm going to say it isn't their bodies down there.
I'm guessing the last new character would be a bow-wielding character like the amazon or the archer. If it is not a archer type class than maybe something like the druid.
This is very interesting news, and it excites me a lot.
Tristram in Act 1
Belial in Act 2
I actually think that Tyreal might be Belial in disguise, and that... might actually be a downer for me. I thought Tyreal was the baddest dude ever, and if it turns out that I might have to kill him because he was someone else, I'm gonna be pissed off.
I feel similarly. I'm just trying to ignore most "Tyrael ends up being a bad guy" theories, whatever they may be. Tyrael is such a badass, and is definitely the highlight Diablo II's cinematics, and I just want him to stay on the same track of badassery for Diablo III.
It seems like if you said it was belial posing as Tyrael to destroy the worldstone it wouldn't only ruin Tyrael in Diablo III, but also ruin my fond memories of what i thought was him in Diablo II.
Oh well though, if they've got a good story cooking that messes with Tyrael, so be it.
I'm really curious as to what the next class is going to be though, based on the confusing hints that are set in place.

My typical train of thought: Everything -> Sex -> Diablo
I don't think the next char will be an amazon, since amazons are women only (yeah i know monks are only supposed to be male as well.) It just seems like it would get a lot more discrediting than the monk, also I feel the barbarian kind of encapsulates the whole amazonian woman thing as well (if you're playing a female barbarian.) That being said I do believe an archer/javelin type of character could make a logical return, I just really hope its not as "amazon" with male counterparts. If it's not the amazon than it has to be the Druid, in fact my moneys on druid since we have our caster - wizard, warrior - barbarian, rogue/ninja - monk, and summoner/darker magic - witch doctor. and a shape-shifting character that can play as either a melee or caster type would be logical to balance the equation and not have too many characters of one type (ie melee vs range). I will miss the paladins though, but i have a feeling they won't be returning.
Except for in the English language, "monk" (or rather what would translate into "monk") refers to both what we call monks and nuns. So the more Eastern European/Asian monk that they based the character on would be able to be either male or female.
I highly doubt that Tyrael would be Belial in disguise. This is because he would have been found out ages ago by Heaven. I am sure it's not that easy to blend in seemlessly with the Angris Council and even take a lot of the limelight.
No lol they mean "he was only disguised as Tyrael in the finale where he fooled the hero into believing the worldstone is corrupted far beyond repair so that he could destroy it, thus having free passage into Sanctuary and with the Prime Evils being dead as well he gains +2500 xp points"

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
I think it's possible Tyrael to end up being a bad guy in the end and not have it be Belial in disguise. All of the angels originally wanted to destroy Sanctuary and all of humanity because humans are half demon and half angel. It's entirely possible that something changed Tyraels mind back to his original way of thinking.
Although, if he ends up being a bad guy, I will be a bit disappointed, because as everyone has said, he's a total badass. But, I trust Blizzard to make it work out either way. So we'll see.
As for this final class...I'm thinking it's going to be a martial ranged class.
Wizard covers the magic ranged.
Witch Doctor covers summoning.
Barbarian is a melee brute.
Monk is the agile melee striker.
I can easily see something similar to the Amazon or original Rogue.
Also, it's nice to see the return of the Monk class.
Sorry, I've been playing Diablo II for like ever but never followed the story well. I've never even played the first one. Anyone want to fill me in.. who is Belial?

First, no matter if Tyr is good or bad in D3 doesn't change the fact that he simply always " a bad moth*fuck* roaming the earth"...
But on a real note, it's so god damn obvious that they decided to stick with the amazon I mean c'mon. Why don't they just spill the beans already. They though about it for years and yeah the zon is the most rounded, versatile ranged class ever. Javs, Pikes, Bows..... You just can't beat that no mattter what. They probably put her there as a filler until someone thought of something better and after endless debate have come back to it since they probably realized that nothing is worth replacing this classic character. Anyone thinking "Barbarian". Same story, they were just epic characters that weren't given enough justice in D2 from the shoddy graphics...Oh yeah and both were somewhat nerfed at one point...(Bowzon-SwordNShield, Thrower Barb)...
That's just my opinion but I would bet anything (well maybe not anything..) that this is exactly wtf is going on at Blizzard.
As to renaming a Zonlike character to make it feel diff?
"That's just putting lipstic on a pig". Just replace the pig with the zon:thumbsup:

That new information about Belial is great!
Personally, it would bother me if Tyrael was Belial, I wouldn't like it at all. What's special about Tyrael is that he's the only non-mortal (Auriel doesn't count, she just voted in favor of Sanctuary once) who has ever cared about humans. It would ruin part of the franchise's story, just my opinion.
The last class, I'm not sure it's going to be an older class like Jay Wilson said, it would be weird because he also said that our friend the Barb is the only returning class. So, to me:
If it's a new class -----> Some kind of druidic (?) archer
If it's an old class -----> definetly the Druid because
All classes from diablo 1 are dead, and come on, a male Rogue?
From d2, the paladin it's like replaced by the barb and the Monk (not in the initial release), the sorceress would be stupid, the necro could be in an expansion, the assassin replaced by the Monk, the amazon can't be a man (unless he attacks you with awesome political power, but they said gender doesn't change the class itself), the Druid is the only possibility, we wouldn't have the archer class, but we would have the shape-shifter class, so I don't know.
That's why I keep thinking it's not a Rogue because they don't use javelins or spears and those are major weapons to a lot of people. But like you pointed out, Amazons are females only (however this is Sanctuary, anything is possible - i.e. female monks). So who knows...since they said previous class Rogue seems to be it atm.

I would put my coins that the remaining character is the Rogue.
But a real rogue, with poison skills, stealth, critical hits, sneak attacks, not just a warrior with bows.
The bowazon was a mix between warrior with bows and a mage, the rogue should be more deadly and agile. Just like a mix between the assassin and amazon. It could also have traps skills.

Monk women is one thing, amazon men is another, because according to the diablo lore (I read it somewhere, but have no source right now) male amazons work in politics, and women fight, because their body makes them more agile to fight in the jungle.
So Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal are the the prime evils. There are also 4 lesser evils, Azmodan and Belial being two of them, Duriel, and Andariel. You already killed the latter two, so now these guys want to come back and kick your ass.
THAT'S IT! THAT'S THE DEMON IN THE MONK TRAILER! For the love of God, I was trying to remember the name when I first saw it. I didn't actually think it would be true, though. It's been talked about for years. Good news, good news.

I am sure it was not Belial who actually destroyed the Worldstone.
EIT: Actually remembered that "Hell" is now ruled by them now, so they would still have to be alive to do this
Nvrmnd LOL
but i certainly wouldnt mind at all
if belial was tyreal lol
technically belial could be any character you come acrossed ever so ya its a possibility
